Chapter 198
BOOK 2: CHAPTER 68
Special chapter: Whispered Secrets
It was almost midnight before Mika left the painting room. She had successfully painted a lot of nothing but also helped her keep calm. She dragged the brush across the paper repeatedly, pouring her anger on the canvas. A lot of people had checked up on her in there while she cursed Alexander over and over again.
The only person she talked to was Harriette. As she walked home, she smiled, remembering how Harriette had advised her to face her fears.
"Shit! It's Reina now," she quickly corrected herself with a mumble.
Gideon walked out from behind the building and walked up to her.
"I think something's wrong with Alpha Rowan,"
She was suddenly alert. "Why do you say that?"
Did he get attacked again? Was he okay?

Mika took a deep breath. "I'm sure he's fine. Tell the warriors to patrol the area every anything serious, let me know," She asked.
As she was about to walk away, Gideon held her hand, pulling her back.
"I was thinking maybe I should spend the night at your place today," he asked her.
She shook her head. "No, please don't. I need to sleep. I've had a long day,"
"Sure,"

now and then. If you guys notice
Gideon answered, dismissing himself from her presence. She watched as he walked away. She would've wanted him in her bed but she just couldn't handle a night of marathon sex again.
She was tired from the numerous paintings and unfortunately, the energy she wasted on cursing Alexander out could not be regained.
Why did she curse him out that much anyway? He was supposed to be the one with the curses. She was the one who stabbed him and almost killed him.
As Mika walked into her dark room, a shadow loomed over her just before she could put on the light in the room.
Mika didn't scream or panic. She was a soldier, she had a warrior's heart and a single threat wasn't enough to throw her off her feet. Moreover, the intruder's scent was all over the room.
did. guy So, she knew who he was. She knew who her enemy was. Mika had somehow managed to have a long list of enemies as Rowan's second- in-command but she didn't think anyone should hate her as much as this
"Are you here for retribution?" She asked Alexander.
“If I'm here for retribution, I would've successfully broken your neck or clawed your heart out,”
"Then, why are you here?" She asked him.

He ignored her question. His fingers brushed across her shoulder as he switched on the light in the room and she sucked in a deep breath. She had no problem staying in the dark with him. She could see his face quite alright so she saw no reason why he had to switch on the light in the room.
“I asked you a question," he took a seat on the arm of her couch.
"I get to ask the questions, not you," he answered, pointing at her
"Who's the lover boy?" He suddenly asked her. He stood up from the couch and walked closer to the portraits on the wall.
“I don't know what you're talking about,"
She removed her jacket and hung it.
"I've been seeing him around you and I presume it's more than a Beta-Gamma relationship,” he asked. Mika wanted to correct him that there was no Beta or Gamma in their pack but she decided not to waste energy on him.
“Whatever it is, is none of your business,"
"You are my business, Mika," He answered, his words laced with threats.
She glared at him. "I don't think I'm your business. Whatever reasons you're here is what you should focus on,"
Mika still didn't understand why Rowan would allow Alexander to stay in the pack. She could never get used to his presence. Not after all that had happened between them.
“Did they find her?" He pointed at the paintings. It was one of Luna Angela's paintings.
She nodded. "They did,"
"Here?" He asked.
She shrugged. "On the moon, maybe," she answered.
He smirked. "Getting smart-mouth with me now, aren't you?"
"What are you doing here? How did you even get in?"
"Through the door," he answered nonchalantly.
"How did you...?" She paused when she realized that question wasn't necessary.
The code to her smart lock was his birthday. It had always been his birthday.
"It was easy. You made it easy," he answered slowly.
"Let me ask again, Malika. Who's the boy?"
"He's not your business," she answered.
"Do you fuck him? Is that it?" He asked. Mika's eyes went wide as she took in his question. She wasn't as offended as she was the last time he said something like this because well, he was right.
"Trying to get yourself killed the second time, aren't you?"
"I didn't snitch on you, Malika. Even when the palace asked me what happened, I never told them it was you,"
"Why? So you could have this leverage over me," She said.

Days after coming into Rowin's pack, Mika waited for the order from the palace for her to be acted in order to get punished for her sin but it never came. She tried reaching out to her younger sister to know what rumors were circulating around the palace but the only thing she heard was how people talked about how she left Alexander for Rowan.
"Yes! So, I could walk into your life like a storm someday and ruin it," he spat.
She surrendered. "Well, here I am. Do whatever you want. Ruin my life like you'd promised," she urged him.
Reina had advised her to face her fear and that was exactly what he would do.
He grabbed her chin and forced her to face him.
"If you didn't want what I'm about to do, push me away from you," he asked her.
Mika frowned. What was he talking about? She wondered.
Alexander tilted her head up a bit before he kissed her. It took her brain a minute to process what was happening. Once she did, she used all the strength in her to push him away.
He looked at her puzzled and shocked. Mika wiped her lips with her palm and stared at him.
Just when Alexander was about to accept his fate and walk away, Mika pulled him back and kissed him. It was rough, and fast at first as they both fought for dominance. Soon, it turned into a slow, punishing kiss that took her breath away.
She was committing another sin and this time, she knew she wouldn't regret it.
