Arrogant Man VS Unyielding Woman

Chapter 638 He Is The Victim

Chapter 638 He Is The Victim

"I understand it won't be easy for you to forgive me, but there is someone else I want you to forgive.

Moore, I am talking about your father. He has been a good father to you and a good son to me. More

than ten years ago, your father was in great danger, so I had no other choice but to abandon you. I

know that you have hated him all these years for leaving you behind. However, one thing you don't

know is that he kept it a secret from you for my sake. So please forgive me for the decision I made

years ago. I hope you can understand me. As a father, all I did is try to protect my son. Please forgive

me."

After he spoke, Olin cried bitterly. Moore sat still and watched him while he was sobbing in his choked

voice.

There was no expression on Moore's face. Instead, it was blank. It seemed like his whole body had

become numb. His brain wasn't prepared for this hence he sat still.

All these years he thought he was the most pitiful person but now it turned out that Gary was the one

who suffered the most. This piece of information was extremely hard for him to digest.

He looked up and glanced at the old man with grey hair standing in front of him. Seeing him, Moore's

words failed him. For few minutes, he stayed silent and tried to regain his composure.

"Forgive your grandfather, Moore! He did this because he had no other choice," Gary persuaded

Moore. "Don't be so hard on him because he doesn't have much time left."

Uttering these words, Gary choked with sadness.

"Doesn't have much time left?

What are you trying to say?" Moore demanded while being afraid internally.

Confusedly, his eyes went back and forth from Gary to Olin.

"Your grandfather has only three months left. He has advanced gastric cancer." Gary unfolded the truth

with a lump in his throat.

When Moore heard this bad news, he felt a pang of sharp pain in his heart. He felt his eyes blur with

tears.

"Gary, I warned you not to tell this to Moore! How can you forget that?" Olin reprimanded Gary as he

was unable to watch his grandson in pain. "I don't want anybody to feel sorry for me. I am paying for

my bad deeds. If you think about it, this punishment serves me right! I am the one responsible for

getting you both separated. Everything is my fault!"

"Grandpa..." Watching Olin blame himself for their mistake, Moore felt so heartbroken.

"Oh my God! Finally, you are willing to speak to me again," Olin exclaimed with full excitement. He

gawked at Moore with his loving eyes. Slowly, he stretched out his wrinkled hands to touch Moore's

face.

"Grandpa, it's not your fault. I don't care about the past and I am willing to forgive you. I have only one

wish and that is for you to be alive. As long as you are alive..."

Moore burst into tears before he could finish his words.

"Silly child, I still have a few months left. I want to make good use of these last days by spending it with

my favorite grandson." Olin touched Moore's face kindly and his heart swelled with pride.

"Grandpa... Please don't talk that way. I believe that you can live a long and healthy life. Not for few

months instead for many years." Moore hurriedly put his hand over Olin's mouth and shook his head

desperately. He didn't want his grandfather to talk about death.

"Good boy!" Olin took Moore's hand with a smile and said, "Well, I promise you that I won't talk about

silly matters and make you sad again. You have to remember that I will always love you, Moore."

Listening what Olin had said, Moore nodded his head movingly.

When Gary watched this spectacle in front of him, his heart sighed with joy. He couldn't help but shed

tears of joy.

Olin tried hard to calm his excitement while he wiped the tears on his face. Then he looked between

Moore and Gary and then nodded his head to Moore.

Seeing the nod, Moore instantly understood what it implied. Yet there was an expression of

embarrassment on his face.

All the misunderstandings had been solved and Moore had no reason to hold any enmity towards Gary.

Moore realized it was time for him to reconcile with his father.

It was Olin's decision to abandon Moore and he did it because he had no other choice. Now everything

made sense and Moore felt the weight shift from his shoulder.

Besides, Moore felt guilty about spending such a long time hating Gary. He always thought that Gary

had abandoned him and hated him from the bottom of his heart. Due to this, he was even reluctant to

see him.

As a result, now it was a little difficult for Moore to recognize Gary as his father.

After all, it had only been few minutes since he heard the truth. It might take him a while to get adjusted

to this new reality.

Olin detected the reluctance on Moore's face, so he pushed Moore eagerly.

Without any preparation, Moore felt himself fall towards Gary's side.

Gary then slowly raised his head to look at Moore. In his eyes, Moore noticed hope and anticipation.

There was both excitement and nervousness.

Moore glanced back at Olin in embarrassment and gave him an angry look for being so impatient.

However, his expression softened when he noticed the old man's condition. His grandfather looked

pale and tired with almost all his teeth gone.

This sight instantly dissipated his anger. Now Moore was in a much better mood.

He looked back at Gary with a helpless expression. After stealing a glance at him, he quickly cried out,

"Father..."

But his voice came out like a whisper and he was confused whether Gary even heard it.

Once he looked at Gary, he realized he had heard it regardless of how small his voice was. Suddenly,

Gary got so excited that his face burst into a happy laughter.

Olin, however, was not satisfied with it. He stared at Moore and said with a serious expression, "Moore,

be louder. Your father has been waiting for you to call him Dad for more than ten years. He deserves to

hear it out loud."

Moore let Olin's words sink in and decided to try it again. He looked at Gary with a big smile on his face

and cried out with a lump in his throat, "Father... "

"Good boy!" Gary responded hurriedly and looked at him with loving fatherly eyes.

"I'm so sorry, father. I shouldn't have hated you for so many years. It was wrong to blame you for

everything,"

Moore said in a voice that was filled with guilt.

"No, it's not your fault. I deserve this! I shouldn't have abandoned you! You have suffered a lot because

of me." Gary shook his head regretfully while his heart screamed with pain. Then he went up to Moore

and said with concern, "Moore, now that you're back in the Bai family, don't leave us again! Would you

like to stay with your grandpa and me in the future?"

Moore raised his head to look at Gary and Olin, and then he nodded with great relief. "That would be

great! I would love to stay with you both."

Hearing Moore's answer, Gary's tense nerves finally relaxed. He looked at Moore with a big smile. His

excitement reached a level where he couldn't comprehend it into words. He always dreamed about

Moore forgiving him but he never thought it would become a reality.

"Moore has been upstairs for such a long time. Why hasn't he come back yet?" Avery kept staring at

the stairway as she was getting anxious now.

"Don't be too worried about him," Jean comforted her. "Moore is a mature man, not a child. I believe

that he has the ability to handle it."

While they were speaking, Zed walked over to them. He was puzzled when he noticed that Moore

wasn't with them. "Where is Moore? Why is he absent?"

Jean came up to Zed and pulled him to one side near the stairs. With her fingers, she pointed toward

upstairs hinting him where Moore was.

"You mean that Moore was invited upstairs by the people of the Bai family?"

Suddenly Zed realized what Jean was hinting.

"Bingo!" Jean replied with a smile.

"I guess it was Gary who asked him to go upstairs. He probably wants to reveal the truth to Moore!"

Zed uttered with a contemplative look. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.

"Maybe! Otherwise, he wouldn't have sent the waiter to call Moore for a private talk. But it has been a

long time since he went upstairs. We have no idea about what is happening now," Jean said sounding

a little anxious.

"That's true. I am so worried about him!" replied Avery, unable to take it any longer. She wanted to

know what was taking so long.

Just when the three of them were racking their brains for an explanation, a voice came and snapped

them back to reality.

"Jean..."

Jean frowned when she heard her name. She clearly knew who the voice was coming from and her

cheeks flushed red.

Zed followed Jean's gaze and found a young man in a blue suit who seemed to be walking towards

them.

His face was beaming with joy and it was evident that he was excited about meeting Jean. Analyzing

him, Zed realized he was a man full of vigor and vitality.

"Who is he?" questioned Zed in a doubtful tone.

"He is the person because of whom we quarreled last night," Jean retorted, looking indifferent.

To an outsider, she seemed calm and composed but she was worried internally.

'I didn't know Ronald was such a persistent man. If I had known that, I would have told him about my

marriage yesterday.

I am such a big fool! How did I forget to mention such an important matter?

Jesus Christ! Zed is here too. Now things are going to get worse. I might have to tolerate another fight.

What should I do now?' Jean thought while she reprimanded herself for her stupidity.

"Jean..." Ronald ran up to Jean and gasped slightly. "You are here too! Come with me! Let me

introduce you to my aunt."

"Well, there's no need of an introduction. I already know her," Jean refused curtly with an awkward

smile.
