Chapter 4
She asked her bartenders if he would go tonight.
His grandfather was a veteran commander. His father was a government official, his uncle a powerful lawyer, and his mother was from a wealthy British family.
For Ava Lins, this was nothing new.
She entered the pub, looked around at people and noticed him sitting there. Ava Lins yanked open the door and rushed inside. She quickly lifted the cup of wine on the table and splashed it over his face!
Everyone in the room fell silent.
Mr. Milton drank the wine while blinking his menacing eyes at her.Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
He knew her! She was the woman that night, but she didn’t know him.
This amazing spectacle took everyone’s breath away. Even the office manager in the UK had to excuse Jeorge Milton.
The air became stuffy. “Who are you?” they shouted . You are blind! How could you come all the way here just to be an idiot?”
Ava Lins glared at him, ignoring the excitement. “She jumped because of you!”
Jeorge Milton stood up, expressionless, and asked,
Her anger rose as she stared at him, stunned. “Is it you? Because of you, she lost both her arms and jumped off from the balcony. How are you going to save her life now?”
He raised his eyebrows and twisted his lips into a contemptuous grin. Is that what you want?
He laughed mockingly. “Hello…” I have to marry any woman who jumps on me.”
Ava Lins was so angry that she raised her hand to slap him, but he grabbed her palm tightly again.
She struggled back. “Go away!”
“I am sorry, but I am not going to do anything about it.”
“You just humiliated me in front of everyone. How will I ever get retribution if I do not get it now?”
“What?”
He kissed her without giving her a chance to respond.
She was stunned, her eyes wide. Despite her shock, she had already let herself go for him. His tongue played around her tongue as he kissed her passionately.
His kisses were as fierce as a hurricane, devoid of any tenderness, and his lips smelled of cigarette.
When she pushed him off her, she saw his sly grin, as if he had discovered something new. His eyes were as dark. “Has no man ever kissed you like that? That’s why you were so shy.”
When he finished speaking, the audience burst into laughter.
Ava Lins clenched her fists. “Jeorge Milton, do not be so obnoxious and arrogant!” she shouted at him with blushed cheeks.
“What?” he said, arrogantly raising his eyebrows. Are you going to sue me? Accuse me of a crime? Do you want me to show you the door of the police station? Or do I need to contact the principal?”
She smirked. She had no idea how strong he was, so why was he so arrogant?
He saw the dirt on her face as they looked at each other. He reached out to help her, but she slapped his hand away and grinned.
He snorted, hid his grin, glared at her and hissed, “You do not have to hate me. I never did anything to your sister, and I have never been with her. I went to the hotel to find a woman and you rushed in to confuse her. Not for me, Jeorge Milton.”
This callous accusation made Ava Lins’ heart ache.
She knew she was in the wrong, but hearing it so clearly made it worse.
She had no idea how she had gotten out of here. It was raining cats and dogs.
The Street was a silent river of lights. The city looked as if it was wrapped in a pale yellow linen.
Ava Lins strolled aimlessly along this road, her body emaciated.
A black car drove by, Goden Bran sitting in it, his eyes closed and asleep, when he heard the driver say, “Mr. Bran, is not that your wife?”
Then he looked out the half-open window and grimaced.
“Do you want to get out of the car, Mr. Bran?”
“Do not stop, go.”
He replied coldly, his attention focused on the rear mirror.
Then he closed his eyes and remained silent.
When Ava got home, the light was on.
It was dark when she got back.
She put on her shoes. She was about to make coffee when she saw that the light in the study was still on.
While she was boiling the black coffee, she unintentionally scalded her hands, turning them crimson.
She sighed. The door of the study was open a crack. She could not go in because he was on the phone.
She had no intention of listening to him on the phone, but.
“Then will the divorce be finalized?”
…
A teacup shattered .
Ava Lins was stunned as boiling coffee splashed onto the floor and the teacup shattered like her heart.
Goden Bran hung up the phone when he spotted her at the door.
He pretended she had not heard him.
He was still the same, indifferent.
She widened her black eyes and looked at him. “When did you learn to eavesdrop?” she asked as he sauntered up to her as if nothing had happened.
When she did not answer, he turned and left. ” I heard something wrong?” said Ava Lins, grabbing his arm and turning around.
“You have not heard wrong.” He spoke calmly, as if to a stranger.
“That’s not funny at all.
She laughed. Her eyes were moist and her voice trembled.
Her heart trembled, but he stood firm. He gave her a cold look. His hand withdrew, “I will give you the divorce agreement so you can express any wishes you may have.”
Then he went up the stairs and closed the door. Silence fell in the house.
It was so peaceful …
She pondered all night.
