Chapter 4 Where Did You Go With My Daughter
Chapter 4 Where Did You Go With My Daughter
Joey looked at the little girl whose face was red because of crying. He rubbed her forehead lovingly. Perhaps it was because Maggie's skin was too tender that she cried so hard that her whole face turned red. At a loss, Joey tried to coaxed the child, picked up grapes from the table in the hall and fed them. Unexpectedly, she clapped his hand and said, "I want my mom..."
Holding Maggie in her arms, Joey panicked and coaxed in a low voice, "Babe, don't cry. Babe, don't cry..."
He could only this sentence which learned from his father.
Thinking of the little boy of Zhao Family who liked candies the most, Joey tried to coax his little girl with candies as well.
However, before the blush on her face faded away, Maggie cried again, "I don't eat candies. I don't want worms on my teeth. Dad is a bad guy!"
Joey was stunned. Regardless of the bad guy mentioned by Maggie, he added a lot of snacks to coax her. During this period, the angry little princess slapped him many times as he couldn't avoid it.
Finally, he listened to the servant's advice and coaxed the little princess with her mother.
He took Maggie upstairs to the Princess Room. As what Lois did usually, He prepared a bath water for Maggie. Maggie played with bubbles with a depressed face. Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Joey wanted to interact with her, but was refused by Maggie. She curled her lips and said, "I don't want dad!"
Joey wanted to tell her the common sense of safety, but was interrupted by the little princess who was crying and calling her mother.
Looking at the size and height of the bathtub, Joey thought it was safe, so he left the bathroom and waited outside for the little princess's order.
Maggie sobbed from time to time in the bathroom. She called her mother in a pitiful voice.
Joey took the materials from the study to make the work plan for the next quarter. After an hour, he threw away the materials and rushed into the bathroom. Maggie had fallen asleep by the bathtub with tears all over her face.
Joey picked up the little girl and went back to the bedroom.
Looking at the little girl's pale face in the bed, Joey felt powerless all of a sudden.
When Lois was about to go to bed, her phone rang. She picked it up and looked at the familiar name. She frowned and answered it.
"Mom..." Maggie's voice was weak and hoarse, different from usual.
"Maggie! Maggie, what's wrong with you? "
"Mommy, where are you? Maggie miss you so much. Maggie Miss mommy so much..."
"Maggie, don't hang up. Wait for me. I'll be right there." Restless, Lois put on a long windbreaker and went downstairs with the key.
After talking to her daughter all the way, Lois rushed to the villa of Gu Family.
When she arrived at the villa, Maggie's face was red and her lips were pale, but Joey was not at home.
When Lois asked her about her father, Maggie curled her lips in grievance and said, "Dad answered the phone and went out, but he hasn't come back."
With red eyes, Lois held Maggie in his arms. That woman was so important that she could make Joey leave Maggie who was having a fever.
Or maybe Joey was cruel to her and Maggie as well.
Holding her daughter tightly, Lois burst into tears.
Wiping away her tears, Lois put down Maggie, took out a thin quilt from the cabinet, wrapped Maggie, and went downstairs with the child in her arms.
She turned on the navigation and drove to the nearest hospital.
Sitting on the back seat, Maggie's face flushed, which made people feel sorry for her.
"Did Maggie have dinner tonight?" Lois looked at her sleepy daughter from the rearview mirror, hoping to attract her attention.
The little girl nodded obediently and said, "yes. But Mommy was not here. The food is not delicious."
Lois praised her with a smile, "Maggie, you're such a good girl. Can I have breakfast with you tomorrow morning?"
"Okay." the little girl answered in a low voice.
The mother and daughter soon arrived at the hospital. Lois stopped the car, picked up Maggie from the back seat, wrapped her with the thin quilt, and hurried to the pediatric emergency room.
The doctor on duty in the white coat took off the stethoscope from his ear and rolled over Maggie's eyelids. Looking at her red and swollen eyes, he frowned but said nothing more.
"Because of the upper respiratory infection caused by the cold, the fever is very serious, and the child is in a bad mood. As a parent, you should pay more attention to it."
Lois nodded, "I see. Thank you, doctor."
The doctor on duty took a look at Lois and turned to the nurse to tell her the treatment.
Lois was coaxing Maggie to sleep with the physical cooling. When Maggie fell asleep, the nurse came over and said, "come with me to the front desk window to pay the fees."
Lois gently put down Maggie and followed the nurse out of the ward.
After paying the bill, Lois came back and picked up Maggie. Seeing that Maggie was looking at her with her big eyes, Lois touched Maggie's forehead, which was still hot.
"Does Maggie miss Mom?"
"Mom, I'm hungry..." Maggie looked at Lois and blinked.
"Then Maggie will wait for Mommy. Mommy will buy milk for Maggie, okay?"
The little girl shook her head.
She remembered that the little girl said pitifully that Joey went out after answering the phone, thinking that she was afraid of loneliness. She couldn't bear to say, "I'll ask the nurse to accompany you. I'll be back soon, okay?"
Maggie shrank back in Lois's arms and kept silent.
Lois remembered that when Maggie was eight months old, she also caught a cold and had a fever. The long and thin needle was inserted into the little girl's forehead. At that time, Maggie could not speak and could only cry, but Joey never cared about her.
She realized that it was too late for her to repent, and Maggie had endured too much grievance and indifference. How could a child like her stand the cold eyes and ignorance from an adult.
"Mom..."The little girl murmured in her sleep.
"Mom is here." Lois patted her on the back.
Maggie looked at her in confusion, "Mom, Dad hugged me today. "
Hearing that, Lois was stunned. She forced a smile and asked, "what did dad say to you?"
"Dad said he would take me to see mom tomorrow."
Lois smiled and said nothing.
"When will dad come back?" Maggie's soft voice rang in [Lois's ears, but she was unable to answer.
Joey stopped the car and hurried upstairs with the medicine box in the back seat, followed by a family doctor.
When Joey opened the door of the Princess Room, he didn't see Maggie, only leaving the phone on the bed alone.
He opened the bathroom door and felt dizzy when he saw the empty bathroom. He turned his head to look at the cabinet with half door open. He stepped forward to open it, but there was no sign of Maggie.
He went downstairs in a hurry, followed by the family doctor.
"Where is Maggie?" Joey looked at the servant on duty.
The servant lowered her head and replied, "Mrs. Lois has taken her away. She didn't tell me where she was going."
Thinking of Lois's firm attitude towards divorce, Joey gritted her teeth and cursed.
In order to divorce, she even stole the child! Did she know that Maggie was having a high fever! Such an irresponsible woman!
