Chapter 33
Chapter 33
Gisele shook her head and mustered a smile. “I’m not hungry. Go ahead and eat without me. I’ll wait for you in the garden,” she said before wheeling herself away.
Johnson looked at her retreating figure with concern etched on his face. He decided to grab some food first and catch up with her later.
Sierra had thought that Dorian would take her to a fancy restaurant. But to her surprise, he took her to the hospital’s cafeteria
The constant buzzing, reminiscent of flies, grated on her nerves.
Despite this, he seemed unfazed and gestured for her to sit at a greasy table while instructing Jon to fetch the food.
Don, can we eat somewhere else?” She grimaced, repulsed not only by the environment but also by the unappetizing food.
She wondered if a pampered lady like her was really supposed to dine at such a place.
Dorian sat upright. He calmly scanned the crowd, as if searching for someone.
Sierra’s hands were clenched tightly beneath the table. She wondered if he was looking for
Gisele
Meanwhile, Gisele sat alone in her wheelchair in the garden. The sky darkened as the soft glow of the lamps bathed the lush grass in a gentle yellow light.
She tilted her head back and looked at the large, round moon. She felt a sense of tranquility washing over her.
“Gigi, dinner’s ready!” Johnson’s cheerful voice broke her reverie as he placed the food
container before her.
“Thank you.” Gisele accepted the food.
She paused, then said, “You’re still a patient. You don’t have to worry about me. Taking care of yourself is what’s important.”
“But I’d like to take care of you,” Johnson insisted, opening his food container and digging
in
Yet, as he handled the container and utensils, his hands trembled slightly.
“Are your hands okay?” Gisele frowned.
“I’m fine! It’s just an occupational hazard. I just need a few days‘ rest.” He chuckled and shook his head.
She knew he was a professional e–sports player and assumed he had tendonitis.
“Come to my hospital room tomorrow morning, and I’ll give you an acupuncture treatment. “She spoke to him as if he were her younger brother and then opened her food container.
Gisele wasn’t sure if Johnson’s kindness was because she had saved his grandfather or if he
had ulterior motives.
Despite her uncertainty, she didn’t want anyone to suffer.
He grinned. “I’m fine. Your focus should be on your recovery right now. If the fever persists, it could lead to brain damage. Then, the world would lose a talented doctor like you.
Gisele paused upon hearing him call her “a talented doctor“.
She looked at Johnson, her voice quivering with emotion. “Do you really think I could become a talented doctor?”
Ever since she had married Dorian three years ago, she had put her career plans on hold.
Though she still dabbled in researching herbal remedies, her efforts paled compared to those of a practicing physician.
Johnson encouraged between bites, saying, “Absolutely! You’re an incredible doctor, Gigi. You’ll continue to make a difference in countless lives and tackle many challenging diseases.
He motioned for her to eat faster and suggested they discuss the future later.
Gisele found comfort in his words, and a smile formed on her l*ps. After all, she had once dreamed of becoming an exceptional doctor.
After finishing their meal and resting for half an hour, they returned to the room. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
Upon returning to the room, Gisele spotted Angie, whose skin was beet red.
Gripping Gisele’s shoulder with a mix of excitement and concern, Angie exclaimed, “You scared me! Where have you been? I have some news to share with you.”
