Chapter 55
Carson’s pov
I didn’t want to leave Valerie for too long. Her presence around me always made my day so I thought of cancelling the trip to Chicago but that was obviously not going to work out.
I decided to get her a phone in order to be close to her even though I was far. I imagined the hugs I received whenever I did something nice for her , it would be cool to get another hug this morning, or a kiss perhaps… Even cooler. I went into her room after ordering our breakfast to be brought in. I wanted to spend time with her before leaving, the only memory I wanted to retain was her smile, the wonderful fragrance of her body in my arms and her lips on mine. I watched her sleeping for a while. The dim rays of sunlight on her face complemented her golden skin tone. I leaned forward and kissed her lightly on her forehead and she opened her eyes. She was probably half awake already.
“Is it morning already?” She asked with a soft yawn.
” Rise and shine val” I replied playfully.
The workers finally came in to set the table and she gave me a quizzical look.
“Have breakfast with me” I said plainly
I saw an indifferent curve in her brows. ” That sounds like an order as usual ” she replied and went into the bathroom.
What did that mean? Did she still see me as the psychopath who makes her do his biddings? I thought we were getting to know each other better. Or was my manner not civil enough? She returned from the bathroom and caught me in these thoughts.
“Don’t you want to have breakfast with me?” I quickly asked.
” You get offended too easily ” she commented lightly.
Of course I would get offended. We had an agreement to get to know each other like two reasonable adults and I was trying to do that but she seemed to have a problem. I had to remind her I was following her ideas.
“Let’s not play command and obey” she began freely “if you’re going to be a gentleman, you have to ask a lady politely, ‘Valerie, would you like to have breakfast with me? ‘ that sounds more like a gentleman trying to get to know a lady” she chatted on and gesticulated comfortably while I simply admired her.
I had never seen her so chatty before, at least not with me. It made me feel she was getting comfortable around me and I loved it, I wish she would keep speaking so freely to me rather than weeping all the time about her old life.
She noticed I was lost in her admiration and lowered her gaze shyly. “I could watch you rap on all day” I said tucking a few strands of her hair behind her ear and looked into her eyes. Those timid green eyes, they created a burning passion inside of me to just devour her with my kisses “You mesmerize me Valerie” I muttered passionately.
She looked into my eyes as well like she was searching for something, did she see the wave of desire surging in my heart right now? Could she see how much she meant to me? I wish I could define it all through my eyes. She’s the first woman to make me feel so helpless. This was going better than I expected, I would make her happier by presenting the phone to her now.
“As a gentleman that I am… I got a gift for my woman” I announced with great chivalry.
” Really?… Did you bring my parents to see me? ” She quickly asked, sounding excitement.
That ruined my high spirits. Was that all she thought about? Couldn’t she be happy with anything else I gave her. And here I thought we were bonding well, it looked very well like she still had plans to get out of my house.
“Is that all you care about?”
“Well… It would be nice if I could see them” she replied innocently.
” I got you a phone anyways” I said blankly, annoyed that my gift was not up to what she expected.
She looked at me with disbelief. She thought I was pulling her legs. Like I wasn’t hurt enough, she still couldn’t trust my words.
“You think I’m bluffing?” I said and shoved the phone into her hands.
The gift presentation was so disappointing, it lacked all the sweetness and affection I thought it would bring.
“Thank you” she said with a smile “though why do you look like you’re sulking?” She teased.
Her light humor had resumed again, there was no point dragging it further. I just wanted to enjoy the morning with her before leaving.
I chuckled and shoved my hands into my pocket. “I got you a phone so you won’t be lonely when I’m not around… I deserve a kiss for being such a gentleman” I answered.
I had kissed her before , I knew the taste and feel of her lips against mine. But it’d feel different if she kissed me . I wanted to feel it, my heart fluttering as her lips brushed against mine. I could never get enough of her. She tried to change the topic but I wasn’t going to miss that kiss. I held her hand and said persuasively “a peck?”
She seemed to give it a thought and concluded that it was not bad. If she only knew what I had up my sleeves.Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
I pointed to my cheek to direct her and as she came closer to give me a peck, I turned her and our lips met. Her lips were so silky, it tasted like butter and cream. I wish we could lock lips deeply, maybe a deep tongue kiss-I felt my cock rise as I thought about all the romantic things I could do with her.
She withdrew quickly and lowered her gaze shyly.
“That felt good” I commented smugly
When we eventually sat down to eat, I asked about her bucket list and she requested for her sisters to sleep over. I was so angry that she was at it again, she wouldn’t request something that relates to having fun with me-her parents, her sister, every fucking time! We got into a word fight and I walked out on her angrily leaving breakfast.
Valerie’s POV
“Has Carson left already?” I asked anxiously as I walked out of the bathroom to see Janet serving lunch in my room.
“Yes, Valerie”. She replied. I felt a chill down my spine and remorse caressing my chin, I tried to hide the disappointment on my face put it was too obvious to be hidden. I had no right to be disappointed, I pushed him away-no! no! Why didn’t he persist? Why didn’t he wait until I was over my anger then tell me about his trip before going? My thoughts were appearing as reactions on my face until I finally spoke out.
“Wait, he left without saying goodbye? He didn’t even where he was going to?” I blurted to Janet. She poured me some juice in a glass cup as I got dressed and handed it to me.
“You sound like his woman right now”
“Am I not?”
“Oh wow, look who agrees to being Carson’s woman for the first time” She teased, laughing in between her words. I was too hurt and displeased to banter words with her.
“I’m not joking, Janet!”
“Okay, since he just gave you a phone. Why not go ahead and call him?” She suggested
“No, never! I would not call Carson first. He’s going to think I missed him” I protested as I walked to my bed where lunch was served.
