Chapter 189
Chapter 189
Chloe
The night | thought would be peaceful and uneventful became utterly worrisome. | tossed and turned in my sleep but somehow, my heart felt uneasy.
| felt like something in me was sensing apprehension but | could not point out why. And it was not only me who was bothered by this unfounded nervousness... Even Aurora felt as uneasy as | am.
Even so, | still forced myself to close my eyes and sleep, for tomorrow, it will be a busy day as | will be assisting Arthur and Esha in developing a large batch of poison.
It was a few hours after the struggle that my body jolted out of bed.
Kicking the blanket wrapped around me, | went out of my room barefoot and headed outside the pack house. | rushed towards the woods following the scene whom | could easily recognize even if it is faint.
“Blake!” | called out, but dread had already washed over me.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
From afar | saw Blake, walking calmly and as unperturbed as ever. But | knew that covered in the cloak of darkness were serious injuries, wounds all around his body and several broken bones.
He smelled strongly of blood and several kinds of poison... poison in which | could not recognize but the scent was enough for me to know that they were all extremely powerful!
My eyes widened as my knees almost collapsed on the ground. Inside me, Aurora was exclaimng the same thought | was thinking at the moment - it's no wonder we were uneasy earlier on.
| tried my best to keep my composure as | rushed toward Blake and immediately supported him. But my eyes were already uncontrollable as the deep sense of worry and shock overwhelmed me.
“Let me take you to the clinic!” | said while trying to figure out his condition up close when my vision was already blurry in tears.
The next moment, | felt Blake’s rough hands. They gently touched my cheeks in an attempt to wipe my tears out as he said softly, “Relax... I'm fine...”
“How are you fine?! You... your condition was severe with several bone fractures?! How can you say you're fine? And the poison in your body...”
“The poison wasn’t inside me... | brought it with me...” Blake then stretched his other hand out and revealed a bloodied sackcloth containing several vials of substances | could not recognize.
“It was because of the rough fighting that some of them cracked. | did my best to stop them from leaking out. That's why some of it went to the protective cloak | was wearing...” Blake answered, but he could not hide the fact that he was already having difficulty in breathing because of the injuries he had sustained.
“Why has it come to this?!” | exclaimed, however, | still supported him as we went back to the territory.
We met Arthur halfway as Blake had also summoned him. With the two of us around, we took a look at Blake’s condition and realized that what he received were heavy physical blows from an opponent that is obviously bigger than him.
| felt a little bit relieved to see that he was indeed not poisoned at all.
“What in the world happened?” As we finished tending to Blake’s injuries, we sat beside Blake’s bed and watched him as he took a rest with his entire body covered with braces all over.
“| followed Elder Gauss in his hideout... and | took those things from his laboratory. While | escaped however, one of the elders woke up from the hallucinations and immediately chased after me... We fought for a while, even so | still managed to take him out before the others catch-up. ” Blake smiled awkwardly as he met my reproachful look, feeling guilty.
“You know it’s dangerous to do that without even having someone standby to pack you up! Look at yourself...” My body trembled as | heard him explain what had happened, and hearing everything from him stirred a river of emotions within me.
The fact that he went through this without even realizing that it would cost him his life if anything went haywire made me feel more than worry but the fear of losing him in this battle.
| have already lost my son, | can’t lose Blake as well...
“Heyy... why are you crying? Here | am, ain’t |? | managed to return safely...” Blake looked at me with a comforting gaze and tried to appease me with his words.
But his state infront of me made me feel even worse that | could not help but look away.
“Ehem...” In the midst of our conversation, Arthur tried to eas

Arthur waved his hands and pointed at the several vials of substances that were still wrapped in the bloodied sackcloth.
“Chloe, | think we must transfer these poisons in a new canister so that we can prolong our time to study them...” Arthur looked at me and suggested.

Before moving, | moved to Blake and reminded him some more before | took the sackcloth and looked at the vials inside. There were several vials in there, some were leaking as they were handled roughly probably because of the fighting.
But there was one vial in their midst that caught my attention immediately.
Agreat sense of apprehension came as | put down the sackcloth and took the vial in my hand.
Blake saw my movement and immediately recognized the vial. His face changed immediately as he said with heavy words,
“That's the vial | wanted to bring here so desperately... It was mad your uncle.... ore aqeutarely was a Tea beers by your uncle from the same poison that killed your late father, Alpha Dean.” Please read the original content at .
