Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1226

The old man's eyelashes fluttered as he slowly came to. At first, he was a bit confused, staring at Flora for a beat before realizing she was the one who had saved him.

"Thank you, young lady. You're quite the skilled healer for someone so young," he remarked. His condition stemmed from experimenting with poisons in his younger years, which left him prone to sudden attacks. He usually carried medicine for such occasions, but, unfortunately, he'd forgotten it this time. He'd nearly lost his life, if not for this young girl. "Did you make that medicine too?" he asked, a mix of surprise and excitement in his eyes, as if he'd stumbled upon a hidden gem. "Where are you from, young lady? Have you ever thought about joining the Medical Hall?"

He was willing to take her under his wing as his final apprentice!

Medical Hall? Flora pondered for a moment. Jacob and Carly had mentioned it as the hub for healers in the Martial World.

"I'm too busy right now, but maybe someday," Flora replied honestly. Her main goal in the Martial World was to uncover the truth about her parents' deaths. Her mother, Mo Yan, was from a family with a common surname in the Martial World, as Jacob had told her. The old man seemed a bit let down but hopeful. A talent like hers was destined for the Medical Hall eventually. After a moment, he reached into his pocket and handed Flora a jade token.

"Hall Master..." His companion looked shocked. How could the Hall Master give such a prestigious symbol of the Medical Hall to someone he'd just met? Even if she had saved his life, they still knew nothing about her.

"Young lady, when you decide to join us, bring this and find me," he said.

Flora glanced at Connor, who nodded in affirmation. "Take it," he advised.

She accepted the token, arching an eyebrow. She'd sensed that the old man was someone important, and it seemed her instincts were spot-on.

"Thank you for saving me," the old man said, still a bit weak, breaking into a cough. "I hope our paths cross again."

Flora nodded, watching as the man helped the old man disappear into the night.

Connor walked Flora back to her family's place. As he was about to leave her room, Flora stopped him.

"Connor, don't go. Stay with me until morning, alright?" She blinked up at him, her hand resting on his shirt at his waist.

Connor hesitated, but only for a moment. Sharing a bed with her...

"Alright, I'll stay," he agreed. He

hated the thought of being apart

from her, even for a short while. But, knowing the walls in the Martial World weren't exactly soundproof, it seemed they'd just be having an innocent night together.

Over at the Medical Hall, Sydney and Kenneth were on the phone.

"Sorry, babe, I couldn't help with the Schuler family's issues," Kenneth sighed.

"It's okay," Sydney replied with a smile, trying to reassure him. But inside, she couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed. She had thought. Kenneth's involvement would ensure everything went smoothly for the Schuler family. novelbin

Taking a deep breath, Sydney said, "Alright, Kenneth, let's focus on your upcoming assessment instead."

Kenneth was the captain of the ninth

squad, the weakest link in the

Enforcement Division. Soon, there

would be a classification

assessment for all the major

families, and his team was among those handling it. Success could

mean a promotion for him.

Talking about the assessment seemed to lift Kenneth's spirits. "I heard the boss who vanished ten years ago is back, and he brought a woman from the Mortal World with him. But my rank isn't high enough to meet him." Hearing this, Sydney felt a spark of intrigue.
