Chapter 600
"Ever told her how you feel?" she asked, curiosity dancing in her eyes.
Casper shook his head, speaking with a hint of superiority, "Absolutely not. She's just an assistant. Why on earth would I share my feelings with her? Doing her job well is expected. If she can't, she's out. Do you think Welton International is some kind of pedestal for her?" Eliza rolled her eyes.
Casper was in no mood to waste this perfect evening talking about someone so trivial.
He leaned in, capturing her with a kiss that felt all-consuming.
Before long, he wanted more than just the taste of her lips. His kisses traveled down her smooth neck, nibbling gently at her ear, and continued their descent.
She gripped the sheets, arching her back, surrendering to his touch.
The next morning, after Casper left for the office,
Eliza sat at the dining table, leisurely enjoying her breakfast.
A servant entered, announcing that Audrey had arrived.
Eliza, a bit surprised, quickly slipped on her diamond-studded slippers from the plush carpet and hurried to the door, "Mom, what brings you here?"
"I just dropped Brock off at kindergarten and realized it's been a while since you moved back. Thought I'd pop in and check on you," Audrey replied with her usual warmth and affection. She clasped Eliza's hand, her eyes softly traveling from her face down to the kiss marks on her neck, "Is Casper at the office?"
"Yes, Mom. Have you had breakfast? I can have the servant prepare something," Eliza offered.
Audrey smiled, "I've already eaten."
Eliza nodded, leading Audrey to the sofa, "What would you like to drink? I'll fix it for you."
"No need, dear. I wanted to talk to you about something," Audrey said.
Eliza's eyes narrowed slightly in attention, "Mom, whatever it is, I'm all ears."
"I own a jewelry company on the thirteenth floor of Welton International, focusing mainly on rubies and sapphires. It's separate from Welton's design department and it's been dormant for a while. I want you to take over. It's my life's work, and I wouldn't trust just anyone with it. But you're my daughter-in-law, and I trust you the most. Are you up for it?"
Eliza knew Audrey had a jewelry company.
But she didn't know it was right under Welton International's roof.
Audrey could have easily merged it with Welton International and let Casper handle it.
Eliza was puzzled by her decision.
"Mom, why all of a sudden..." she stammered, caught off-guard, "...I might not be the right person for the job."
"I believe in you, and that means you can do it," Audrey reassured her.Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
When Audrey married Tristan, she was all in for a happy life. But Tristan was too carefree, and she couldn't see a future with him, so she channeled her energy into her career.
This jewelry company was her beacon in a long, unhappy marriage.
It symbolized hope amidst adversity, and she wanted it to continue.
Audrey pulled out a stack of share transfer documents, "I own all the shares, and now they're yours. Don't worry, I'll provide the initial funding until the company is stable.
Audrey's decision to entrust her most cherished possession to Eliza without hesitation showed her clear favoritism.
Eliza was touched but felt a bit unworthy.
"Mom, shouldn't we talk this over with my sister-in-law and Casper?"
"It's my property. Why should I consult them?" Audrey signed her name, handing the documents to Eliza, "Sign here, and you'll officially be in charge of Crystal Clear."
