Love is the Sunshine

Chapter 611 The Unexpected Guest

Chapter 611 The Unexpected Guest

"Of course, Sean refused!" shouted Carla.

She frowned and continued, "He's only 15 years old. It's too early to talk about marriage, even if it's just

engagement."

In Carla's eyes, Sean hadn't really understood the meaning of marriage yet.

If the elders forced him to promise to marry someone now, it would be unfair to him.

"I have an idea. But you are likely to be misunderstood in this way," Terence said with a smirk on his

face.

Carla put Sally who was sleeping on the opposite bed, covered her with a quilt, and then sat beside

Terence.

"Tell me. What should I do?" Carla asked Terence for his help with her current predicament.

Terence held her shoulder and explained with a smile, "Sean could say he's willing to accept this

marriage, playing the good cop. You, on the other hand, would say that you don't want Sean to accept

that, playing the bad cop.

The reason why you are unwilling is very simple. You are eager to protect your younger brother and

don't want him to be bound by marriage so early. You can refuse from the perspective of Sean.

And Sean can agree to the engagement from the other perspective. But he has to listen to you

because you are his elder sister."

After carefully thinking about Terence's plan, Carla asked, "If so, won't the engagement be canceled

eventually?"

"Yes, we just want to cancel the engagement now!

And there must be one result in the end—this engagement will be discussed again two years from

now," Terence replied with a smile as his fingers gently caressed Carla's hair.

All of a sudden, Carla finally understood what Terence meant, suddenly nodded and said, "Oh, I got

that! No one knows what will happen two years later!

If Sean goes abroad to study, or he has met another girl he likes at that time, the engagement will

surely be canceled then!"

Carla's thoughts began to fly all over the place. She thought if Sean really had a favorite girl, she

wouldn't stop him from falling in love if he was over eighteen years old.

Terence could only laugh and stare at Carla without saying anything as she was detailing every

possible scenario that could happen to Sean in the span of two years.

Truth be told, the two possibilities Carla mentioned were unlikely to happen, because Sean was going

to join the army.

Even if he wanted to enter a university, he had to take the self-examination.

Although Sean was still under Grandpa's investigation and trial period, Terence could tell that Sean

would succeed to pass with flying colors. And if Sean entered the army, his future will definitely be

prosperous.

The next day, Carla and Sean went to the grave of their grandparents early in the morning.

Uncle James and Uncle Mike also came together with them.

After they came back from the grave, as expected, Uncle James and his wife mentioned Sean's

engagement again.

Fortunately, Carla had told Sean of Terence's plan when they were on the way to the grave.

According to Terence's plan, Sean played the good cop and Carla played the bad cop. This will

persuade Uncle James and his wife to discontinue any talk about this thing again.

Sean promised Uncle James that he would come back to make his own decision two years later.

Hearing Sean's promise, Uncle James and his wife also breathed a sigh of relief.

Although Carla didn't treat them well, Sean was still kind to them.

After all, they were not related to Carla by blood. Since Sean, their biological nephew, treated them

well, they would not mind the marriage arrangement.

On the flight back to JA City, Sally heard that Carla was talking with Sean about the engagement.

Feeling curious, Sally asked, "Mother, what does engagement mean?"

"Engagement means to find a wife for your Uncle Sean in advance!"

Carla explained while gently rubbing Sally's little face.

Sally seemed to be unhappy after hearing Carla's explanation and replied, "What?"

Her lower lip protruded in a sulky pout. She then came down from Carla's legs and walked to Sean.

She asked, "Uncle Sean, are you afraid that no one will be willing to marry you in the future?"

Sean held Sally in his arms and caressed her nose with a smile, answering, "Of course not."

"If so, why do you want to find one in advance?"

Sally asked and looked at Sean while tilting her head.

"That's because... Sally, you will understand when you grow up. I also don't know how to explain this to

you now."

Sean could only explain this way to Sally who was giving him an extremely curious look.

He thought this topic was too complicated for Sally to understand.

Sally pursed her mouth into a pout that a baby or toddler would do when he or she doesn't get what he

or she wanted. She whispered in Sean's ear, "Uncle Sean, don't get married now. When I grow up, I'm

willing to marry you!"

Sean was stunned after listening to Sally's declaration.

He flicked Sally's forehead with a laugh.

"No, you can't marry me! Your mother is my sister and you are my niece. This kind of relationship is not

allowed for marriage."

Truth be told, Sean also couldn't explain the proponents of marriage clearly to Sally. Although he was

not related to Carla by blood, but nominally and in his heart, he thought he was the biological uncle of

Sally.

Sally pursed her lips and couldn't understand why she couldn't marry Sean.

In her pure mind, as long as it was a boy and a girl, the two could get married.

Aunt Violet told her that she could get married with Cody. Why couldn't she marry Uncle Sean instead?

Little Sally didn't understand complicated world of adults.

They soon arrived in JA City.

The aircraft landed at the AJ Group's private airport.

After disembarking, Terence went directly back to the AJ Building to deal with business.

Meanwhile, Carla returned to the Seaview Villa with Sean and Sally.

But when they arrived, they found that there was an unexpected guest waiting for them at home.

"Tristan, what are you doing here?"

Sean asked Tristan in a surprised tone.

"I'm came here to see you and sister. Oh, and little Sally!" replied Tristan. He patted Sean on the

shoulder, walked to Sally and held her up.

"Sally, I brought you a gift! Can you guess what it is?"

Tristan magically took a delicate doll out from his pocket.

"Wow, it's so beautiful. Thank you, Uncle Tristan!" Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

Sally said in a sweet tone and clutched the doll in her arms.

She was delighted to have a new toy!

Carla also came over, looked at Tristan, and asked, "Tristan, why did you come over here out of

nowhere and without informing me?"

Carla recalled the last time when Tristan came to their villa. He had no money and wanted to crash in

their home for an inordinate number of days.

Although four years had passed, in Carla's eyes, Tristan hadn't changed a lot. He seemed to be more

mature according to his appearance, but his temperament was still the same as before.

"I...I just want to give you a surprise! Besides, it's not my usual style to inform you in advance."

Tristan replied to Carla while sporting a grin, putting Sally down and shrugging his shoulders.

"Really?"

Carla asked while feeling worried. She had a gut feeling that there was something wrong with Tristan.

"Carla, I really just want to give you a surprise. If you don't believe me, you can ask Sean. We have

been together all the time for the past two years. He should know me best!"

Tristan said, pointing at Sean.

However, Sean quietly turned his eyes away from him.

As if he hadn't heard anything, Sean walked into the Seaview Villa.

Sean thought, 'I'm really glad that I'm a strong-minded person. Otherwise, maybe I have already

become a degenerate after being with him for so long!'

Carla received a call from Andrea just as she entered the house.

"Callie, is Tristan there?" asked Andrea.

"Yes, he is. What's the matter?" answered Carla.

Carla was silent for a while and glanced at Tristan.

As soon as Tristan knew it was Andrea who called Carla, he immediately ran up the stairs.

"Tristan got into a lot of trouble! Callie, ask him to come back home quickly! Don't let him stay in your

house, or you'll be in trouble as well!"

Andrea said to Carla over the phone, her voice seemingly worried for both of them.
