Master of his heart (Brielle and Max)

Chapter 1355

Emma was caught off guard; the voice that greeted her wasn't Brielle's as she'd expected but a man's.

Pushing the door open, she stepped in to find Dustin turning around in his swivel chair.

Her whole body tensed at the sight of him.

Dustin raised an eyebrow slightly, acknowledging her presence.

Emma quickly composed herself, subtly hiding the application form behind her back. The form detailed her pregnancy, and she couldn't help but worry about his reaction if he saw it.

"Mr. Lynch, where's Mr. Haywood?" she asked, curious about his presence.

Dustin leaned back, his gaze slowly scanning her. "What do you need from Bree?"

Bree? So informal?

Emma momentarily wondered about the nature of his relationship with Brielle but reminded herself it was none of her business. She had settled into her life in Beaconsfield, and things were looking up. Besides, if Mr. Haywood and Dustin were indeed close, it would only be to Dustin's credit, given how impressive Brielle was.

"It's about a live stream issue. Since Mr. Haywood isn't here, I'll come back another time."

Dustin stood up and slowly approached her. "What's that you're holding? Isn't it meant for Bree? You can give it to me."

He reached out to take it, but Emma stepped back, clutching the document close. "It's personal."

Their eyes locked, Emma standing her ground. "I'd prefer to hand it directly to Mr. Haywood."

Dustin chuckled, raising an eyebrow. "You work at Stellar Stage Entertainment and you don't know about me and Bree?"

Emma had heard a lot about Brielle but was unaware that she and Infinity Brilliance's Dustin were siblings. She merely looked at him coolly.

Her cautious demeanor made her seem like a wild animal, ready to defend itself at any moment.

"I wasn't aware."

Her tone was indifferent as she shifted her gaze away. "If Mr. Haywood isn't here, I'll come back another time."

Turning towards the door, she nearly made her escape, but Dustin quickly blocked her path, his gaze narrowing.

The door required pulling open, but with Dustin's hand firmly against it, trapping her between his chest and the door, Emma found herself unable to leave. "Playing hard to get, are we?" he murmured in her ear. "After all the support I've shown, not even a smile in return?"

Emma thought he was referring to that night in the countryside. Had he remembered?

"It was Mr. Lynch who refused to acknowledge me first. Besides, we both have our own lives now."

The proximity was overwhelming, his scent enveloping her, causing her to panic slightly.

Dustin observed her, puzzled by her accusation.

Emma pressed herself against the wall, folding the document neatly. "Mr. Lynch, I need to leave."

Dustin stepped back, his gaze lingering on her. He had only seen her on screens before, but in person, her features were even more striking-fierce and wild.

He remembered something King

had mentioned about a female doctor named Emma who had saved him. Coupled with her knowledge of herbal medicine, he had pieced together it was her.

But now she acted as if they were strangers.novelbin

He decided not to press the issue, considering the significant support he'd shown as a way to repay her.

As Emma left and stepped into the elevator, she encountered Candice, another streamer who had started around the same time as her. Due to

a shift in viewer base follow Due to

another streamer's departure, Candice's channel had grown, benefiting from the audience looking for a similar vibe.

When Emma had arrived at Stellar Stage Entertainment earlier, she had bumped into Candice and

mentioned she was there to request a leave, but hadn't disclosed the reason.
