Chapter 7
Zara’s point of view
No. No. I cried as I shook my head. The bloodshot red eyes looked deep into my eyes for a while, snarling and growling at me as I shook my head, trying to fight it off,
“No! No!” I cried
My eyes suddenly snap open as I found myself looking up at a very unfamiliar ceiling. My heart is racing and I feel like there’s a burning sensation In my upper arm.
“Fuck!” I groaned as I forced myself to sit up. I was in a T–shirt and a pair of joggers.
my feet as I struggled to get walk, feeling all drowsy.
1 slowly got up to my
“What the hell was she doing all the way there?” 1 heard Matco’s voice asking as I slowly strode out.
I don’t know. Maybe she went for a run” A voice I wasn’t familiar with responded as I listened to their conversation
“A run? No bags or anything like that!” Mateo asked.
My heart was racing as fast as I closed my eyes, wondering who he was speaking with. Could it be one of the pack members!
“Nothing. I didn’t find a bag or anything, the man lied as 1 frowned.
Why was he lying to Mateo I thought to myself as I staggered, making my way into the area that seemed like a living room.
You are awake,” Mateo beamed with a smile as I walked out, my eyes meeting with the man who was standing by the kitchen counter with his hands folded
I nonchalantly nod my head.
“You shouldn’t be walking. The poison is still in y
your system” Mateo rushed to me as I sniffled back, thinking about those eyes I saw.
“What was that thing?” I asked him as he tried to come to my aid, but I lifted my hand, stopping him from touching me.
“Uhmm.. We don’t know,” he finally says after a long pause while glancing at the man who was standing by the window.
“You saved my life. Thank you,” I thanked him as he bowed his head, looking at Mateo,
“Let’s get you home,” He said, trying to come near me, but I looked at the stranger, hoping he had my bag.
“I can take her later. She can rest until the poison wears off” He suggested as Mateo let out a long growl in disagreement
I ground, holding my head, and he let out an exasperated sigh. Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
“Rest up. I will check on you later,” he said, walking out of the room
I curtly bowed my head as he walked towards the door. I peeped out the window as he walked back to the car getting in and I listened out for anyone around the house.
“You lied to him. Why?” I asked him as he dropped his hands.
“I didn’t lie,” He retorted monotone as I pursed my lips together, holding my arm as I strode over to the kitchen counter.
“Here” he offered me a cup of coffee as I shook my head.
“I’m good. Not a coffee person,” I declined as I inhaled heavily.
“I know you have my bag 1 said to him as he sipped from the cup
I sighed heavily while gently stroking my hand.
“If you want to leave. Just ask him, the woods can be dangerous to people who don’t know them. He said to me as I swallowed hard
“I just can’t leave,” I muttered under my breath, lowering my head.
I cant believe this is what I found myself in when all I wanted was to get away from my family and backstabbing friends.
We can leave It’s just get their last names and we can reject them. Paris remarked as I scoffed, making the stranger look at me.
“I don’t think I got your naine,” I said to him, leaning against the counter as his lips turned up into a smile
“I don’t think you asked,” He replied, grabbing a bag u
under the kitchen sink and handing it over to me.
My bag-
“I believe everything is there,” He stated as I took the bag from him.
“Thank you. UMM..
“Daniel,” He responded as I nonchalantly nodded my head.
“It’s my pleasure..
Zara
“Nice to meet you, Zara,” he said to me, beaming with a smile, his green eyes lighting up
“I will be out of your hair now,” I said, making my way towards the door, my head was a bit drowsy, but I knew I should be getting out of there.
I made my way out of the house as soon as I stepped outside the house and I was lost.
I don’t know which way to go as step back into the house
“Can you point me toward the other type of cabin?”
“The not–so–nice ones?” H
He asked me as I nodded my head, chuckling.
“I will show you,” he said as we made our way out of the house, going through the different types
before we finally could see the cabins.
“So, which pack are you from? You are not a rogue, obviously,” he asked me as I swallowed hard, not sure if I should tell him.
“You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to,” he added as I sighed heavily
Sorry Just don’t think I would want to tell you where I’m from right now,” I said to him, my lips turning into a smile as he chuckled softly. nodding his head.
“No problem. I understand,”
“Guess this is me,” I said as I stood outside the cabin and he nodded his head.
“Will leave you here then” He curtly bowed his head as I chuckled
“Please don’t do that” I gave him a weak smile
u one,” I said to him, lifting my bag as he nodded his head, waving at me.
“Thanks so much. I owe you
Sighing heavily, I entered the cabin, looking at all the dust collected on the covers.
Right now, leaving was not an option. I had to settle into this forsaken pack until I came up with a better plan.
I would have to earn Daniel’s trust and maybe, just maybe, he would help me escape this fucking pack.
In the meantime, I was going to change this fucking house.
“Are we staying?” Skye asked, finally saying something after not uttering a word since last night after I asked her to help Paris.
“Yes. Only until we find a way to get out of here,” I remarked as I stood in the middle of the room thinking of what life would be like for me after deciding to stay here.
