My Flash Romance With the Richest Mogul

Chapter 1323

Joe tossed his phone aside and returned to the bathroom.

...

Rosa tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep.

She hadn't had a decent night's rest in days. After the party, she had planned to have a good conversation with Joe that night, but then he unexpectedly left for a business trip that stretched over several days.

During this time, it felt as if Joe had vanished. She kept telling herself not to rush into contacting him, but he didn't reach out to her either. The situation remained tense. Today, she could no longer hold back her anxiety. After some deliberation, she decided to call Calvin.

"Ms. Reese?" Calvin answered.

"Is Mr. Sowle very busy these days?" she asked bluntly.

"Yes, Mr. Sowle has been very busy lately, leaving early and returning late. Some issues with a partnership have caused some complications," Calvin replied.

Hearing that he was genuinely occupied, Rosa sighed in relief. "When will you all be done and back?"

"We've wrapped everything up today, so we'll return tomorrow."

A flicker of joy surged through Rosa. "Great! I just called to check on Mr. Sowle's whereabouts. Please don't mention this to him."

Calvin hesitated for a moment. "Understand."

After hanging up, Rosa felt as though she could finally breathe again.

She had feared that Joe would abandon everything he had built over the past few years to return to Jipsburg with Skylar. While waiting for Joe to contact her, she had also researched Skylar.

Skylar had been living with Joe's

grandmother for over three years in Murida. The thought of Skylar being a nuisance was already troubling

enough, but now the added presence of Joe's grandmother made her feel even worse. Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

Having to compete with Skylar for Joe's attention was difficult enough, and now there was the added challenge of an elderly lady who likely wouldn't have much time left.

Just when she felt a sense of relief, another wave of anxiety washed over her; if this matter weren't resolved, she would never sleep soundly again. She had to tackle both problems head-on.

With that in mind, she chose to

confront them directly. She wanted them to see the futility of their efforts and, ideally, force them to leave Murida and disappear from her and Joe's lives for good.

In the hospital in Jipsburg, Maisy woke up in a haze, feeling disoriented.

For a moment, she couldn't tell whether she was dreaming or if this was reality.

In her nightmare, she was beaten mercilessly, unable to scream for help. She had begged for mercy, but it seemed her assailants hadn't heard her. They kept attacking her mercilessly.

In contrast, reality felt oddly comfortable. It seemed like she was lying in a soft bed as if she were still the cherished daughter of the Williams family. Everything good was hers to enjoy.

However, as she regained her senses, she caught a whiff of a pungent antiseptic smell the unmistakable scent of a hospital.

She thought, "Hospital... Hospital? Am I in a hospital? Did they bring me here? They haven't killed me?"

She struggled to get out of bed to find someone and ask what was happening, but she realized she couldn't move. It wasn't just her legs that were immobile; her hands were, too.

Panic washed over her as she remembered that her hands had seemingly been severed.

She turned her head to look at her hands and saw they were wrapped in thick bandages. With great effort, she glanced at her legs and felt a surge of terror. She pondered what had happened to her hands

legs.
