Richest Mogul 1306
Chapter 1306
Skylar was wide awake now. “She actually went after Mona?”
She wondered what Maisy was planning.
Skylar had expected Maisy to target Steven, Charles, or maybe even Harvey. She hadn’t thought Maisy would go after Mona, let alone drug her.
Maisy was truly rotten to the core.
Natalie exclaimed, “Exactly! You mentioned Mona is a famous online writer. I even looked her up and read some of her novels. I never thought I’d run into her like this. I’m still rattled.
“Maisy would have dragged her away if I hadn’t come here. I still can’t figure out why she wanted to drug her. She left so quickly that I just called the police.”
Skylar responded quickly, “Calling the police was the right move. I’ll call my brother now. Please make sure Mona gets checked at the hospital. There could be something left to analyze.”
“Already on it. We’re heading to the hospital now, and I’ve asked the staff to get the surveillance footage too. The police will have some evidence to work with. Whatever she sprayed was definitely some nasty stuff.”
“Good.”
Once she had finished talking to Natalie, Skylar immediately dialed Steven. Steven sounded surprised when he answered, “Skye, aren’t you supposed to be sleeping? What’s got you calling now?”
“Steven, Maisy went after Mona and sprayed something on her. Fortunately, my friend Natalie caught her in the act and stopped her. But Mona’s still unconscious. She is on her way to the
hospital now.
“I’ll text you Natalie’s number. Get to the hospital as soon as you can. Natalie has called the police, and she’s securing the evidence, if any,” Skylar spoke as quickly as she could, novelbin
explaining the current situation to Steven.
Steven was stunned. “What?”
“Calm down, Steven. Mona’s safe now.” Skylar reassured him, trying to calm his nerves.
Steven quickly regained his composure. “Got it. Send me Natalie’s number. I’m heading to the hospital right away.”
“Okay!”
On his way to the hospital, Steven video–called Janine and Charles, alerting them to the
situation. He told them that if Maisy approached them, they needed to inform him immediately. He also wanted them to share everything Maisy had just done.
He didn’t want any of them to be swayed by Maisy’s false apologies or manipulations.
Maisy’s cruelty had reached new heights. If she was ruthless enough to harm Mona, then she might try to ruin their whole family next.
“Is she insane? Does she not realize this is a crime? Not that it matters–she’s probably broken the law more than a few times before this!” Charles was shocked by Maisy’s
brazenness.
He never thought she would sink so low. At first, they thought it was outrageous that she had targeted their family. But now, she was attempting to commit a crime in broad daylight.
Janine was equally stunned. “What is she trying to do? Why would she drug Mona? Does she not know this is illegal? She’s completely lost her mind!”
Thinking back on everything else the Williams family had done, Janine realized this shouldn’t come as a surprise. It was still terrifying, though.
The idea that Maisy might show up anytime and harm her loved ones was too much. She couldn’t afford to let Maisy hurt anyone else.
Steven assured them. “This time, I’m not letting her off the hook!”
He had initially planned to go easy on Maisy since she was his biological sister. If she hadn’t committed any serious crimes, he wouldn’t just turn his back on her. In the worst case, he could secretly arrange for her to be relocated and set up with a job to support herself.
But he had clearly overestimated Maisy.
Mona was his wife and the person he cared about the most. He couldn’t bear to think about what Maisy might do to her after drugging her.
Fortunately, she had been lucky enough to run into Natalie. He took a deep breath, calming himself.
