Spoiled by the Silver Fox

Chapter 756

Emily nodded, "I get it now."

"What do you get, kiddo?" he scoffed. "What can a little squirt like you understand?"

He was clearly just killing time, shooting the breeze with her.

"I get that Grandpa's not just pulling my leg... he means business. Thank you, Grandpa."

Jaxon raised an eyebrow and said, "That Snider girl has been spoiled rotten since she was a tot, a law unto herself. It was one thing when she had her brothers to dote on her, but now, without their protection, she's still as brazen as ever. She'll stir up trouble sooner or later. But don't you worry your little head, sweetheart. She wouldn't dare cross this old man."

"So do I need to stick close to you to stay safe? But I want to hang with my fellow apprentices..."

"That's up to Sebastian, the rascal. We agreed that my name alone would keep Rebecca at bay... But since he's so concerned about you, I reckon he'll make sure you're protected."

"I don't know... but Seb has been good enough to me already. It's just my rotten luck that always causes trouble for people around me."

"At your age, blaming bad luck? Listen, your fate is what you make it! Even if you're born with a silver spoon in your mouth, you can still mess it up if you don't know how to live life. And those who do know how to live... take Stephanie, that cunning little minx. She's got my grandson wrapped around her finger, utterly smitten. That's not luck; that's savvy. She came from the slums, for crying out loud. How lucky could she have been? It's all about living smart and making your own way!"

Emily pouted, "My sister apprentice doesn't play games; that's why Seb likes her. Seb doesn't go for the manipulative types, the ones with a different face for every occasion. But in the world of high society, that's almost everybody. And Seb liking my sister is a good thing..."

Jaxon smirked, "Good? When they're from two different worlds?"

"Grandpa... If I really, really cared about you, all I'd wish for is your health and happiness, for you to be carefree and cheerful every single day. That would be enough for me."Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

Jaxon blinked at her words. "Is there a hidden message in what you're saying?"

"If Seb and my sister are happy together..."

"And? Is happiness all there is to life?"

"Emmert says... A man who can give up the woman he loves will never amount to much! My dad is the prime example of that..."

Jaxon paused, struck by her words.

This little one knew a thing or two, didn't she?

Jeffrey... indeed, after taking over

the reins of the Perez family, hadn't made much of an impression. In terms of guts, he didn't eveno measure up to Rebecca.

But his own grandson, his

capabilities were always top-notch... and ever since this little one came into the picture, his ambition seemed to have grown even more. He had declared that Skyline Corporation would remain as it was, but everything else would belong only to Sebastian.

If he wasn't mistaken, all these sudden ambitions were probably inspired by the little lady.

Was Skyline Corporation not enough for her? What about the family legacy?

Was he setting out to build his own business empire, all to pamper that little lady?

If that young man really pulled it off... then she would indeed become the unsung hero of the Ingram family.

Jaxon had seen the heyday of the Snider family's prosperity with his own eyes. The Ingram family, even now, was nowhere near that level.

If in his lifetime the Ingram family

could reach the heights once held by

the Snider family, looking down on

all of B City's elite, stepping wherever they pleased without a care well, then he could die a contented man.
