The CEO of Prestige Group had come asking about the dessert just the other day, and now another person was here inquiring about it again. Sandra looked up and spotted Farrah just as she was confused.
Farrah quickly raised a finger to her lips before Sandra could speak to gesture for her to keep quiet.
Sandra caught on and pretended not to recognize her as she smiled and said, “Welcome to Fairytale Cottage! What would you like to order?” She knew the woman wouldn’t press further as the conversation shifted.
Germaine heard the voice and turned her gaze. Her eyes met with Farrah’s before her expression slightly shifted with a sudden hint of displeasure in her heart. “Farrah, what are you doing here?”
“If you can be here, why can’t I?” She smiled. “Do you own this place or something?”
Germaine’s temper flared at the retort. Her voice dripped with sarcasm as she said, “Are you trying to help the CEO find the pastry chef who makes Sweet Sun? Ha! Don’t bother, he’s already tasked me with that.”
Find the pastry chef for the CEO?
Sweet Sun?
Farrah couldn’t help but recall Adrian’s reaction upon hearing the name Sweet Sun yesterday when she made dessert for him at home.
However, why was Adrian looking for the pastry chef who made Sweet Sun? He had also brought up Mark
Could it be..
Adrian already knew she was the pastry chef.
Why would he send Germaine to look for her? What was wrong with him? Couldn’t he just tell her directly? Weren’t they married? Why all the fuss?
Farrah couldn’t help but feel both amused and incredulous.
“What are you laughing at?” Germaine crossed her arms in front of her chest and approached her in her high heels. Her expression was cold and serious as she said, “Farrah, stop wasting your time on the CEO. These little tricks of yours won’t work.”
Farrah didn’t want to expose her. She just quietly took out her phone and turned on the recording feature.” Ms. Keller, since the CEO has entrusted this matter to you, I’m sure you’ll handle it well.”
With that, Farrah sat down in one of the chairs. “Miss, please give me a rum cheesecake. Thank you. Sandra immediately caught on, Farrah was pretending that they didn’t know each other.
“Right away!” Sandra hurried off to prepare the order.
Germaine stared at her and was even more certain she was trying to win the CEO’s favor. “Farrah, let me give you a word of advice. You’ll never be worthy of him no matter how much you do.”
“The only thing that matters is that you deserve him, isn’t it? Why do you care if someone else is worthy?” Farrah responded casually.
Germaine’s face turned ashen. “Stop trying to fool the CEO with your little antics. I’ve been by his side, for years. I know very well that you’re not his type!”
Farrah had secured her position as Adrian’s wife and was completely unfazed by her words. She placed her phone which was still recording on the table and thought that Adrian must have no idea the kind of person Germaine was.
Sandra sensed the tension in the air and quickly delivered the requested rum cheesecake to Farrah before retreating behind the counter to watch the drama unfold.
“Germaine.” Farrah looked up at the woman before her. “You’re so terrified of losing him, but have you ever thought that he was never yours to begin with? He’s just your superior. He pays you to do your job. Why don’t you focus on that instead of always fixating on me? I’ve never offended you.”
Germaine’s expression slightly shifted. Her pride was wounded as she gritted her teeth and said, “I won’t allow you to get close to him with your tricks. You don’t deserve him!”
Farrah sneered. She let out a soft sigh and shook her head. “Oh, who do you think you are to keep warning me like this?” She glanced up and quickly added, “Have you ever stopped to think that maybe you’re the one stepping out of line?”
“You…”
“Are you aware that you have a crush on your CEO?” She smiled and asked again, “I can do you a favor and tell him if you’re too afraid to confess to him.”
