My life only revolves around you
“Jayden?” A crisp and mellow voice cut through the air like a sharp blade, shattering the tender moment between Jayden and Nina.
Madison’s eyes widened in shock as she witnessed the scene before her. Her mind raced to comprehend the sight of Jayden embracing another woman so intimately.
Confusion clouded her features as her thoughts ran wild.
Jayden’s arms tightened around Nina as they turned towards the source of the voice.
The woman in front of them seemed to be around Nina’s age. Her features were a stunning blend of different ethnicities. Her fair complexion was complemented by soft, flowing curls that framed her face. She exuded an aura of purity and elegance that drew attention from those around her.
Jayden’s expression hardened as his gaze fell upon the women, annoyance flickering in his eyes.
Though he had expected some kind of confrontation, he had hoped to avoid it on this particular night.
Nina’s initial shock quickly transformed into a cold, guarded demeanor as she assessed the person before her.
She was none other than the woman who had accompanied Jayden tonight.
Her eyes flickered briefly to Jayden, her gaze searching for some sort of explanation.
Jayden was annoyed at her disapproving gaze and turned around to address the situation.
“Nina, this is Madison, my niece,” Jayden introduced, breaking the heavy silence. “And Madison, this is Nina… my wife and your aunt.” He emphasized the word “wife,” stating her status.
Madison was still reeling from the shock of seeing Jayden being intimate with another woman when he dropped another bomb at her.
Her eyes darted between Jayden and Nina and finally found her voice. “Are you serious? You’re not kidding, right?”
He has to be!
“Why would I make this kind of joke with you?”
Madison’s disbelief turned into a mix of anger and jealousy, her composure slipping as she struggled to process the reality before her.
Her voice dripped with contempt as she retorted, “You can’t be serious, Jayden. This is beneath you. Are you willing to throw away your status and reputation for someone like her?”
She really could not accept that Jayden, the man she had always admired, chose someone like the woman in front.
It was a blow to her ego, to her perception of how the world worked within their privileged circle.
Her uncle was a mighty figure, high on the altar. It was beneath him to settle for something so ordinary, especially someone with just a pretty face.
But as she took a few more glances at her captivating face, she seemed to have understood why her uncle was with her.
A hint of mockery stained her lips as she glanced at Nina with disdain. Her condescending gaze lingered on her and she dismissed her with an air of superiority. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
Nina rolled her eyes in annoyance, and a hint of irritation could be seen on her pretty face.
She was growing tired of being told the same things again and again.
Jayden’s gaze hardened as he intervened, his voice firm. “Madison, my personal matters are not up for debate. Nina is my wife. I don’t care if you accept that, but I won’t tolerate any disrespect towards her.” He made his stance clear, ending things once and for all.
Madison’s anger flared as her face flushed with embarrassment. She did not expect Jayden to not give her any face in front of an outsider.
Indignant, she reached out her hands to cling onto his shoulders in petulance. “LJ, please don’t be angry with me. I was just reminding you out of goodwill.”
It could be said that from a young age, Jayden indulged his niece the most. He had always given in to her, even when she threw tantrums at him.
Madison had loved sticking close to him since she was a kid. Her mother was Jayden’s cousin from the second branch and she would need to address him as an uncle.
However, Madison refused to do so. The term was too formal, and she preferred calling him something more intimate.
Indeed, Jayden’s expression softened after her apology.
Nina saw their interaction and her heart turned cold.
“Can you continue your conversation somewhere else? Or at least let me leave. I’m tired and want to rest,” she suddenly interjected, her voice was cold and devoid of warmth.
She tugged her wrist, attempting to free herself from Jayden’s firm grasp, and depart from the situation.
Tonight’s events had left her exhausted, both mentally and physically. Even the simple action of breathing was becoming torturous for her.
Jayden, seemingly oblivious to her frosty expression, tightened his hold on her wrist. His gaze softened as he looked into her tired eyes. “Wait for me. We’ll leave together,” he implored, his voice filled with a gentle plea.
Nina immediately rejected him. “No thanks. I can take a cab myself.”
“We’ll leave together.” He insisted, leaving no room for discussion.
“But LJ, you promised to accompany me to the event.” Madison’s smile faltered and she couldn’t help but butt in.
Yes, he did, and certainly paid a price for it.
“I did promise, but we have something on. Anyway, the event is over. I’ll ask Rick to drop you at your place.” Jayden stated firmly, his voice leaving no room for argument. “Goodnight.”
With that, Jayden turned his attention back to Nina and squeezed her hand lightly.
Madison bit her lips and was unwilling. She glared at Nina, her almond-shaped eyes brimming with hostility.
However, the latter did not even spare a second glance at Madison as she found it beneath her to respond to her.
Together, the couple disappeared into the chilly night.
As she watched them walk away, Madison clenched her fists tightly, her nails digging the flesh in her palms. It was unknown what she was thinking.
“Ms. Heath, let’s go.” Rick interrupted her thoughts, bringing her back to reality.
Madison nodded her head and followed him reluctantly.
As the car pulled up to their residence, Nina went inside, paying no attention to Jayden, who followed closely behind.
Hearing the commotion, Ms. Eva immediately instructed the servants to leave the premises and gave the couple privacy.
During his thirty years of existence, when has Jayden ever been ignored in his life? One had to know that it was always others who licked his shoes, begging him for forgiveness.
Unable to bear the distance any longer, Jayden reached out and gently grasped Nina’s arm, turning her around to face him.
“That’s enough, Nina. Stop fooling around,” he implored, his voice tinged with frustration. “Are you still going to be upset over it?”
He really couldn’t understand why she was still agitated over something so trivial.
“Why? Do I need your permission to be upset now?” Nina sneered.
“Then are you jealous?” That made sense. “Don’t make a big deal out of it. It’s not what you think.”
“Not a big deal?” Nina looked at him absurdly.
Seeing that the blockhead still did not understand what he had done wrong, Nina was silent.
“Okay, then tell me. If our roles were reversed, what would you do in my place? How would you feel if I had lied to you about being busy at work, but in reality, I was actually enjoying a party with another man?”
“You wouldn’t dare.”
“Why won’t I dare?”
“Because you are my wife. I’ll break your legs if I see you with another man.” Jayden replied domineeringly.
Nina spread out her hands. “See? Now, which one of your legs should we break first?”
“That’s not the same. Madison is my niece.”
Nina really wanted to ask him if that person thought the same.
As a woman, her intuition told her it wasn’t so simple. Why would his niece look at him so amorously? She had seen the possessiveness and jealousy in Madison’s eyes when he introduced her as his wife.
“Relative or not. A woman is a woman. Just because she’s your niece, it won’t change anything.”
Jayden felt himself going crazy due to her absurd words. Taking a deep breath, he explained once again. “Madison had just returned to Spring City from abroad and asked me to attend an event with her. I did not know it was the same runway event at that time since this wasn’t my first time bringing her out to play. If I had known earlier, I would’ve canceled the appointment with her.”
This was the first time in his life that he patiently explained to someone. Ever since he met her, he would subconsciously do things he had never done before. Feel emotions he never felt before. Jayden felt that his woman had truly broadened his horizons.
“I told you I don’t care. Who she is to you and what your relationship is, I fu**ing don’t care.”
Jayden’s face turned solemn and his piercing gaze bore into hers. “Then what’s your problem? Have I been spoiling you too much recently that you think I’m easy to talk to?”
He had already put down his pride and explained everything clearly, but she was still being unreasonable. His patience was now wearing thin, and he was on the verge of losing his temper.
Nina looked at him with a start. The coldness emanating from him gave her a chill down her spine.
Her thoughts wandered back to the night’s events and her heart went cold.
“Do you even realize the significance of today?” she suddenly said.
Her voice trembled and her eyes welled up. “It was my very first runway show. A pivotal moment in my life, a milestone I had worked so hard for. And you… you knew how much it meant to me.”
“I know that in your eyes, this may seem insignificant, but to me, Jayden, it meant the world. And I wanted to share my special moment with you.”
“I wanted you to be there because you’re the only person in my life. Isn’t it pathetic? My life only revolves around you.” There was a lump in her throat as she said bitterly.
“And it’s not about you not attending the event. I’m angry because you lied. And you say that it wasn’t a big deal? Have you ever considered my feelings?”
“Sometimes, I really can’t help but question; Do I even have any presence in your life, Jayden? Or am I just a fuck doll who warms up your bed?”
“Shut up!” Jayden coldly commanded.
