Chapter 3: Five Years Later
Five years later, at the First Airport of City N, a young man was walking out of the pick-up channel and
he had stood out among the crowd. He was wearing a black shirt and trousers. His lips below the
brown sunglasses were pursed and he looked exceptionally unfriendly and unapproachable.
Seeing him coming out, his assistant who had been waiting outside quickly went to him and took his
baggage while asking carefully, "Sir, little Noah has not eaten anything for the whole day, shall we go
back to the mansion first?" RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
"Why are you only telling me this now?" The man's frigid voice sounded as if he was going to lose
temper later and the assistant's legs trembled. Everybody in the Beckham house knew that little Noah
was Mr. Beckham's dearest heart and he had protected him in all ways to avoid him getting harm. Even
Mr. Beckham did not even dare to speak any louder when he talked to him and it was conceivable how
much Mr. Beckham loved him. However…
The assistant felt intimidated, but he still braced himself and explained, "Since you're going to Chicago
for an important deal this time, I was afraid I'll distract you, therefore I didn't contact you via phone call,
and I didn't expect little Noah would go for a hunger strike for the whole day too…"
The man went to a halt. He took off his sunglasses and looked towards his assistant. His eyes were
pitch-black, but they were slowly changing to green as observed by naked eyes, even the atmosphere
of the surrounding was becoming tenser bit by bit. Having seen that, the assistant could almost not feel
his legs and collapse.
Whenever Mr. Beckham was angry, his eyes would turn green. And it showed that he was angry now…
Oh shoot, he was going to lose his job! "When did I ever give you permission to make decision on my
behalf? Hm?" He spoke with an icier voice.
"I, I'm sorry…" The assistant lowered his head and was ready to accept his fate. Just then, a small
chocolate ball rolled across the crowd and stopped beside Joseph Beckham's leather shoe. The
wrapping paper of the chocolate ball made him wrinkled his eyebrows and he bent down, picking it up.
"Mister, that's my chocolate!" A little girl ran to him while calling him with a soft voice. The little girl was
aged around four or five. She was not tall and still needed to raise her head when Joseph squatted.
She had a pair of big eyes, her black eyes were as shiny as agate and limpid typical of a child. Her
naïve look made Joseph's heart leapt and he fixed his eyes on her. He felt weird. It was the first time he
met this little girl, but why did she give him such a strong feeling? As if they had known each other
before.
Stella Downey shook her head and extended her small tender hand towards him. "Mister, if you want to
eat the chocolate, you have to buy it yourself. I only have three chocolate balls; therefore I don't have
extras to give you." Her childish words seemed to melt Joseph's heart judging from his relieved
expression. "Do you like this chocolate brand?" He squatted and returned the chocolate ball to her.
What? His assistant who was standing aside was completely startled. That was very unusual, because
Mr. Beckham never liked any other child besides little Noah. But why was he squatting while talking to
the little girl and was even speaking gently to her like how he spoke to little Noah? That was
preposterous!
Stella nodded hard and grinned, showing her two small white tiger's teeth which made her looked
extremely adorable. "Could it be that you like this chocolate brand too?"
