The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge

Chapter 2409

Chapter 2409

Bella said, "Ash, don't be so pessimistic."

Perhaps it was because she had just seen Justin and experienced yet another heart-pounding moment, Bella was feeling particularly emotional.

Her reddened eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "Loving someone doesn't always mean possessing them to find happiness. As long as they're living well somewhere in the world- free, safe, and without hardship-that should be enough, shouldn't it?"

"You're right, Bella." Asher's voice carried deep sorrow, his laughter tinged with bitterness. "Arnold has given up too much for me. He sacrificed so much. I don't deserve someone as wonderful as him. Only by leaving me can he find true happiness."

Once Grant officially took over, his first major task was to assume control of the A5 project bidding from Justin.

Although Justin's downfall had paved the way for Grant to inherit the Salvador family's legacy rightfully, Grant was well aware that some within the company still doubted him. They questioned whether he possessed the same decisiveness and competence as Justin.novelbin

Securing the A5 project would silence these critics. Once the project was his, no one in the Salvador Corporation would question his position-not even Nigel.

In the chairman's office at the Salvador Corporation headquarters.

"In recent days, our stock price has remained stagnant, with someone covertly purchasing Salvador Corporation shares. Thankfully, with you here, Grant, we've managed to stabilize the situation."

Gregory patted Grant on the shoulder, his face glowing with approval. "Grant, you've never once disappointed me since you were a child. I'm truly proud of you!"

"Thank you for your praise. The Salvador Corporation is the fruit of your and Grandpa's hard work. No matter what, I will protect it."

Grant's lips curled into a faint smile as he picked up the teapot and poured a cup of tea for Gregory. "Dad, though I've taken over the daily operations of the group in Justin's stead, I must ask you something. Did you only give me this opportunity because of Justin's downfall? Or... Had you always intended to let me prove myself?"

Gregory froze, clearly caught off guard by the question.

After a few seconds of silence, he chuckled and replied earnestly, "Grant, you're my eldest son, the one I've raised and watched grow. How could I not give you a chance? Moreover, it was thanks to your intervention during the partnership with the Wilsons in Meridan and the media crisis over the banned substances scandal that the Salvador Corporation weathered

those storms. You've already proven yourself capable of handling the position." Though Gregory had passed the prime of his life, he was not foolish. He could hear the probing undertone in Grant's question.

With Justin's scandal causing stock fluctuations and an urgent project at stake, Grant had stepped in during a critical moment. Gregory knew he had to reassure his eldest son, ensuring trust to prevent further instability that might jeopardize the company's development.

"Dad, your words truly reassure me." Grant appeared satisfied with the answer, his smile calm as he promised, "Rest assured, I will secure the A5 project."

Just then, a knock sounded at the door.

When Gregory allowed entry, Paul hurried in, holding an iPad.

"Chairman Salvador, although our PR department has worked hard to control public opinion online, three major TV stations are still refusing to let this go. They're all official media outlets, so we can't pressure them to retract their stories!"

"Outrageous! How dare they?!" Gregory smashed his teacup to the ground in fury. "We've advertised with them, yet they repay us with betrayal?!"

"Dad, please calm down. This isn't a significant issue." Grant raised his delicate brows slightly, lifting a cup of tea and sipping it leisurely.

"How is this not a big deal?! Negative press could directly affect our chances of securing the A5 project!"

Gregory clasped his hands behind his back, pacing anxiously. "Although we have no competitors in Savrow, the KS Group from Hatchbay is eyeing this lucrative opportunity. If we fail to win the project, KS Group will likely take it!"

Grant's eyes narrowed, his lips curving into a faint, enigmatic smile. "If it ends up in Ms. Thompson's hands, I wouldn't mind stepping aside to fulfill her dreams."

"Grant, I know you're fond of that girl, but you can't let infatuation cloud your judgment! Your brother started his string of bad luck after getting involved with Ms. Thompson!"

Gregory's exasperation was palpable, though it was tinged with resentment. "What's done is done. There's no point in clarifying matters now."

Grant's tone remained indifferent as he proposed, "Why not hold a press conference and broadcast it nationwide? As the president, I'll personally address the public, sincerely apologizing on behalf of the Salvador Corporation. Since we can't reverse the situation, we can at least take responsibility and admit our mistakes. This might help us salvage some goodwill and reputation."

Gregory sighed deeply. "At this point, it seems we have no other choice. But I'm still worried about the project..."

"Leave it to me, Dad."

Leaning forward slightly, Grant placed his cold palm over Gregory's hand in a gesture of reassurance. "You don't need to worry about anything. All I ask is for your complete trust in

me."

When Grant returned to his office, he found Clarice seated on the sofa, waiting for him.
