The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Chapter 2108

"Okay..." Lara turned and smiled sweetly at Frank, the way she looked at him having clearly changed. After daybreak, both she and Sylvie were discharged as they had no further issues following checkups. They had breakfast together at a nearby restaurant before returning to the tomb.

The construction team had already arrived, and Sylvie instructed them on where to dig.

However, after clearing the surface level, they had a problem when they reached the lower passageway.

It turned out that the structure on the lower level had a delicate design, and they would need to blow up the columns keeping the roof up with dynamite if they wanted to dig deeper.

But if they blew up said columns, the entire tomb would collapse too!

After weighing her options, Sylvie decided to allow the construction team to head inside the tomb to examine the column structure.

Just as she expected, the support was perfect and would last a few more decades.

"Alright, then let's head down!" she said, steeling herself to head indirectly.

Frank was not sure if he should laugh or cry. "Then you should've let me in in the first place, sparing the construction team the need to travel all this way."

Sylvie pouted. "Who would be able to tell if the tomb wouldn't collapse? If we'd gone in without consulting the professionals, we'd be buried alive, and that would suck."

Frank did not argue and dragged Tigris and his men out of their tents to escort Sylvie's team to the village, where they found the switch and entered the lower passageway directly.

"By the way, I have a question. Is there any reason we would be able to hear the sounds below from up here?" Frank then asked.

"On the surface?" Sylvie appeared confused.

"You weren't there, Ms. Wal!" Tigris exclaimed, hurrying towards them and painting a vivid picture for her right then. "We were suddenly hearing so many footsteps from down below, and we thought this place was haunted! We were so scared that we couldn't even move!"

Still, it was clear that even Sylvie

was surprised by the strange incident despite being so knowledgeable. "No way! We're talking about several feet of solid earth Sound can't possibly pass through!"

S

"Wait... could this place be actually haunted?" Lara blurted, still traumatized as she remembered. "The cell signal also went out when we tried to call for help!"

"Whatever the case may be, we'll find answers down there," Sylvie said, even more determined to explore the tomb because of what they said. She would definitely get famous if they found anything peculiar!

Soon, they were in the first room Frank entered before and were all captivated by the antiques.

"Paintings, writings, and porcelain

tools of eras so long ago... Whoever renovated the tomb must have been rich!" Sylvie exclaimed after looking around, as each relic here would sell for millions!

Tigris slid up next to Frank, chuckling cheekily. "Mr. Frankton, we have the advantage in numbers. Let's knock them out, sell off all these antiques, and live like the rich!"

Before Frank could say a word, Sylvie wheeled on Tigris, clearly having heard him. "Come on. You're just going to knock me out with this beautiful mug? What, aren't you interested?"

Tigris flushed, not expecting a lady to be that blunt.

Frank rolled his eyes. "Anyway, just stay here. I have something to deal with."novelbin

"What? Wait, are you really interested in taking the antiques for yourself?" Sylvie appeared puzzled.

"Don't ask!" Lara promptly stopped her, knowing the truth.

However, it only fielded Sylvie's curiosity.

Seeing that she was bent on getting the truth, Lara sighed exasperatedly. "There's a painting next door-it's the View of Fureno, though we're not. sure if it's the real deal. However, it was covered in an aphrodisiac, and Mr. Frankton is just trying to keep us from getting caught in it again!"

Hearing that, Sylvie also remembered that Lara had been admitted to the hospital earlier and refused to say why no matter how she asked.

And seeing that she had no visible injuries, she most likely was hit with that aphrodisiac.

Smiling gleefully, Sylvie said, "Judging from what you said, you must've jumped Mr. Frankton!"
