Chapter thirty-one
Alessandro
“Come on, Dante,”
I ran my hand through my hair, feeling a mix of frustration and annoyance. “You’ve had her plump lips wrapped around our… you know what, just be quiet,” I retorted, matching his tone.
The mere thought of that sends shivers down my spine and has the gentleman in between my legs throbbing against my pants. I hitched in my breath, groaning in frustration as I pulled my hair again in anger.
“We both desired the same thing, it felt good so stop making it look as if I am the only one in it,”
“Just shut the hell up, Dante!” I snapped, my frustration boiling over as I pressed my face into my hands, trying to regain control.
Her images are messing with my mind and he is not helping at.
“Come on, the evidence is right there, down your pants,” he teased, causing my face to flush with embarrassment as I quickly crossed my legs, trying to hide the evidence of my arousal. His laughter only made the situation more ridiculous.
This is not good at all.
“You know we can still have her tonight if you don’t mind,”
“DANTE!!!” I slammed my fist down on the desk, seething with anger. Just as I did, the door to my office swung open. My eyes narrowed as Aristide walked in, and I cleared my throat, trying to regain my composure as I leaned back in my chair.
“Easy, I only said if you don’t mind…. Fine, deny that you still don’t crave her,”
This idiot still has the mind to continue with his endless teasing….. Fuck it!
“Just beha……
“Hey, man,” Aristide said, coming to a halt in front of my desk. I let out a heavy sigh and simply nodded, not really in the mood to engage in conversation. His brow furrowed as he locked eyes with me, then shifted his gaze down to my lap. Luckily, when I slammed my fists on the desk earlier, some files had scattered onto my lap, conveniently covering up the noticeable bulge that had formed between my legs.
“What?” I snapped, raising an eyebrow as I locked my gaze on him.
Clearing his throat, he nodded at my lap, “What’s the deal with the files scattered all over you?” His curiosity hung in the air, begging for an explanation.
“He ain’t lying, man. What’s the deal with the files all over you?” Dante snickered, earning a deadly snarl from me. “Dare to tell him the truth,” My jaw clenched as I fought the urge to snap back at him. This beast is really pushing my buttons. With an exasperated groan, I forcefully pushed him away at the back of my head and turned my attention to Aristide, only to find him staring right back at me.
“Why are you here?” I asked, swiftly changing the topic. This caught me off guard, as he usually prefers to keep to himself and stay away from the hustle and bustle of the building. He loves staying on his own, away from everyone. So his unexpected presence left me puzzled, wondering what could be the matter.
“Nothing,” he nonchalantly shrugged, but that only deepened my frown. Just as the silence settled between us, a knock echoed from the door. “Yes… come in,” I sighed, leaning back in my chair, feeling a mix of curiosity and weariness.
The door swung open, revealing Luciano as he strolled in. “Good day, King,” he greeted with a hint of familiarity, his eyes darting between me and Aristide, I nodded in response. The room seemed to buzz with an unspoken energy as we exchanged greetings.
“Any news,” I went straight to the point, clearly not in the mood for any pleasantries or beating around the bush.
“Yes, King,” he nodded. Aristide continued to stand there, his gaze fixed on the two of us. I couldn’t help but feel a chill in the air as I coldly nodded in agreement. “Okay, go on,” I replied, my tone matching the frosty atmosphere.
“Her name is Emma Giovani,” Luciano began, his words seeping into my consciousness. “She’s eighteen, part of the omega tribe. Her father tends to the gardens, while her mother works as a cleaner within their pack.” Aristide’s expression shifted into one of surprise, and he shot me a puzzled glance. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at him, choosing to ignore his curiosity for now.
“Her parents,” I asked, my voice trembling with curiosity, “Gone,” Luciano’s words hit me like a ton of bricks. “They were among those killed in our last attack on their pack,” he revealed, sending a shiver down my spine that seemed to reach the depths of my very bones.
Will she ever forgive us for what my kind did to her parents? The thought weighed heavily on my conscience, causing an inexplicable lump to form in my throat. I let out a sigh…… Is not as if I care! Fuck the matebond_
“Leave,” I commanded, disguising my urgency with a calm tone. “Okay, my king….” Luciano nodded in understanding, his expression shifting as he turned and silently retreated. It was as if he had never entered the room in the first place, leaving behind an eerie sense of emptiness.
As I sighed, the weight of the information swirling in my mind, I barely had a chance to relax before Aristide’s voice abruptly interrupted me. A scowl formed on my face, “Who is it?” Aristide stepped forward, his curiosity piqued.
“She is not important,” I shrugged dismissively, waving off the discussion. But my casual response only seemed to intensify Aristide’s curiosity. “She…?” he inquired, his brow furrowing with intrigue.
Damn it! How could I be too careless with my words?
“A she-wolf,” he exclaimed, his voice trailing off in shock as he snapped his head to look at me. “Is it her?” Aristide asked, his eyes filled with anticipation and curiosity.
My brow knitted in a frown, “Who?”
“The she-wolf in the slave quarter,” he inquired, earning a sigh from me before I nodded at him in confirmation.
“Why? You never cared about a werewolf before, let alone a slave,” Aristide asked dramatically, his voice filled with disbelief.
I rolled my eyes, my gaze fixated on his pacing figure. I ignored him, watching him pace back and forth like a restless animal. It annoyed me to no end that I even entertained the thought of wanting to know more about her. And what annoyed me even more was the fact that I couldn’t just kick him out if not that he was my brother. “Damn privileged bastard,” I mutter under my breath, frustration evident in my voice.
Feeling utterly drained, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes in exasperation. I leaned back in my chair, letting out a sigh before responding, “To use her… we gotta figure out what the hell we’re getting ourselves into, you know?”
“But she said she is clueless,” he whispers in a horrified tone, “How do you intend to use an omega against the Alpha?” He adds
I let out another exasperated sigh, the tenth one in a row. I couldn’t understand why I had this burning desire to know more about her. And to make matters worse, I wasn’t even sure if it was about that so-called coward, Matteo, or the mate bond this time around. How the hell am I supposed to use her against that fool? It’s all a tangled mess in my head.
I sigh, shaking my head, “What then should I have done? Maybe kill her instead,”
On hearing my voice, he stopped pacing and turned to glare at me. “I don’t believe that you actually thought of killing her,”
I couldn’t help but raise my eyebrow at him, a smirk creeping onto my face. “Well, if she can’t be used against that coward, then she’s pretty much useless here, isn’t she?” I retorted, my voice laced with a mix of amusement and danger.
He walks forth and slumps on the visitor’s chair, his eyes never leaving my bored gaze.
“It hasn’t come to that yet,” he muttered, his voice muffled and filled with defeat. His shoulders slumped down as if the weight of the situation had taken its toll on him.
Why is he acting off? Besides it is still heartbreaking to know that the moon goddess has fucked me off at this crucial moment.
“I will kill you if you pull your asshole act on our mate,” Dante was quick to intervene.
“Shut up, you naughty head,” I pushed him back again.
“So her parents were killed?” Aristide whispers.
“You heard Luciano,” I nod my head
I lazily rubbed the shell of my right ear, my eyes shifting to the dull grey wall beside me.
“We killed her parents,” Aristide concluded, his words hitting me like a punch to the gut. “Are you not a bit remorseful?” His sudden question snapped my gaze back to him but before I could unleash at him, the door was immediately swung open. This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.
“Hey buddy,” Lucas grinned, strutting in like he had just won a trophy. Just as the door swung open again, Marcus joined the scene, a long-inked paper clutched tightly in his right hand. The arrival of both of them piqued my curiosity.
“Hey, Ales,” Marcus called out, striding towards me with a determined look on his face, seemingly oblivious to everyone else in the room. “I’ve just discovered a mistake in the names of those slaves scheduled to be sold next weekend.”
