The Omega's Sweetest Revenge

60. The Mother's Hug

60. The Mother's Hug

CHAPTER 60: The Mother's Hug

LILIAN KEPT ON crying so hard as she watched the light fading away from her. She shook her head

and tried to chase it, as if it was enough to take Alpha Karius back to her.

The light slowly fades away with the wind... until it's out of her sight. She felt like her heart was

shattered into pieces at that sight.

"N-No! Please, don't take him away from me!" Lilian shouted in the midst of her cries. Her cries are the

loudest inside the messy mansion.

She couldn't believe what she did. She killed her mate. She killed her Alpha Karius. It was all done. But

it ended painfully... so painful that she felt like her soul was also gone with the wind.

Why does she have to experience this kind of pain again? The pain of losing another loved one. Her

mate... what will happen to her now that Alpha Karius is gone? Yes, she may have gained the power

from the moon goddess and is considered as the most powerful now but, she couldn't guarantee to

herself anymore if she could still be happy after this... if she could still smile.

The last time she cried painfully like this was when her little angel passed away without her even

holding him or her. And now... she's experiencing another pain of losing someone very dear to her. It

was piercing her heart into pieces as she cried even more.

"L-Luna..."

Lilian kept on crying as she felt a hand on her shoulders. A clothe suddenly wrapped around her,

covering her nakedness but it seems like she became numb already. It felt like everything around her

has suddenly disappear because of the pain in her heart.

"My mate is still a-alive. This can't be h-happening!" Lilian said in the middle of her cries, as if everyone

that's seeing her will even believe what she's saying.

They saw what she did... she stabbed the Alpha and killed her.

Lilian looked at her own hands and trembled when she saw the traces of Alpha Karius' blood. She

couldn't believe that her own hands ended the life of his mate. She suddenly hated herself seeing his

blood on her hands. She glared at it as her hand balled into fist.

Meanwhile, Calyx couldn't help but to clench his jaw looking at Lilian weeping so hard. Jackson has

stopped from punching and hurting him and is now staring blankly in the air... like everything is still

processing in his head.

Calyx was the one who wrapped Lilian with the curtain that he just pulled on the broken glass window.

She put it on her shoulders and it seems like she doesn't even notice his presence.

"Let's get out of here, Luna..." Calyx whispered to Lilian this time as she assisted her to stand up, but

she just shook her head and looked at him with tears in her eyes.

"C-Calyx... tell me. This is not real, right? Everything that happened here is just... a d-dream! Please,

wake me up now!" She pleaded crying loudly again.

Calyx gritted his teeth at the sight of the hurting Luna. Some of the wolves already shifted in their

human forms, leaving the whole area and going to their loved ones. He couldn't help but to feel sad

seeing the dead helpers in Alpha Karius' mansion.

They had lost many lives...

And their Alpha Karius is also... gone now.

What will happen to the pack now?

Alpha Karius... he's not just Calyx's alpha. He's also his best friend. No, scratch that. He's more than

that to him. He's the brother that he never had. He wanted to question him for his decision to end his

life like that but it was for the better. He respects him so much and this is what he wants. But then... his

decision hurts to the core.

Can't they find any way? For sure, they could do something, right? They should at least look for

another way! And he's somehow blaming himself for what happened. If only... he's not that weak

enough to guard him, he wouldn't escape from him. That fucking man name Jackson was able to get

him!

He went back to reality when he heard another cry from Lilian again. Sighing, Calyx had no other

choice but to pull Lilian forcefully. She was already too weak to even protest and he was able to carry

her in his arms. The mansion was too dangerous, it might collapse any moment from now.

His heart is breaking for the wolves who had lost their loved ones. The pack was filled with cries and

agony of the wolves. He clenched his jaw, trying to supress the tears from falling from his eyes.

Lilian kept on crying and calling Alpha Karius' name as if he would come back to her. But she would

hold onto the moon goddess' words. She will still trust her.

She will not stop hoping... even if it hurts.

***

DAYS PASSED BY like a blur and Lilian chose to stay in the tree house as they fixed the mansion. All

thanks to Calyx who has been really restless after the tragedy and was the one who's commanding

everyone.

Everything is slowly being back to its normal state because of Calyx. Lilian knew how he's also having

a hard time because he also lost his dear friend and alpha. But he's doing all his best to do the work in

the pack since Lilian couldn't seem to function anymore.

After losing Alpha Karius, she doesn't think she could still live normally.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

She smiled sadly as the sight of the tree house hurt her again. Alpha Karius made sure that this place

was well maintained. He made some extensions and made the interior design more modern. He really

treasures this place so much... where their love bloomed when they were still starting as a secret

couple. It hurts her heart and melts it at the same time.

"How are you, dear?"

Lilian let out a deep sigh when she heard the familiar voice of her mother. Calista is staying in the Moon

stone pack for days now and was helping them to fix everything. The midnight pack is really a great

help. Calista, together with some of her pack members, are there with them to bring back everything to

normal. They sent help and healer witches to those wounded wolves in the moon stone pack.

"Nothing, Mama," she answered.

She lied again for the ninth time. She was actually thinking about... Alpha Karius again. As silly as may

sound, she's actually thinking that everything that happened was just a product of her imagination. How

she wished everything is just like that... but it's not. It was all real. And the pain on her heart wouldn't

just subside.

"I understand what you feel, dear. Come here..." Calista said and opened her arms, initiating a hug.

Lilian smiled sadly. Yeah, right. Calista also experienced the same situation as her. Calista lost her

mate. But she truly admires her for still being strong after everything that she had been through. Her

pack is in good condition until now despite her painful past.

Lilian went to her mother and hugged her so tight, feeling her warmth. Calista is really making

everything light for her. Her hugs were enough to calm her mind a bit. Lilian didn't talk and was just

savoring her mother's hug.

"So.. what are your plans now, hmm?" Calista asked. "I'm not pressuring you. I'll be always here for you

to handle... things if it's still hard for you." Calista caressed Lilian's hair gently.

"I honestly don't know, Mama..." Lilian almost whispered. "How were you able to... accept everything,

Mama? My father... had the same faith as my mate." They are both... dead. And it actually amazes

Lilian that Calista keeps on going despite what happened to her mate.

Calista smiled sadly. "I never accepted your father's faith to... die, dear. It's just that... I got used to it

already. There's no day that I never thought about your father. He will always be in my heart, no one

could ever replace him. My love for him is overflowing and will never falter. And it hurts until now that

he will never come back to me again." She let out a deep sigh. "But I also realized that being hurt all

the time won't do anything good to me. I have a pack to take care of and they need me. My love for the

pack was able to replace the pain in my heart. And then I also found you. You're enough for me. And

your father will always understand that. I learned to be content with those things that I got because

maybe the goddesses have other plans for me. I will always hold onto that."

Calista smiled as Lilian kept on listening to her. "It may be painful now but as time passes by, you will

learn to also get used to it. Be strong, dear. You'll get through this. I know you can do it..."

Lilian closed her eyes, feeling her mother's warmth even more. Good thing she's here with her now.

Because she will surely lose her own sanity if she's not.

After that talk, Lilian decided to visit the pack again.
