The Untouchable Ex-Wife

Chapter 2142

Chapter 2142

Being a sensitive woman, Amber immediately noticed Liam's displeasure.

She kept her head lower and explained carefully, "I want a chance to choose again... I want to choose another person to fall in love with. You know that Matt and I grew up together. We're childhood friends. He likes me and always protects me without asking for anything back. I feel that it's happier to marry a person who loves me instead of marrying someone far beyond my reach."

For the first time, she expressed the exhaustion she felt from her relationship with Liam. She no longer wanted to be the one who kept fawning over him. She wanted to give up and relax by being the one who was loved and adored in a relationship.

'Tsk!" Liam snorted arrogantly. "You don't know Mateo. He's not a nice guy. He's just good at pretending. Maybe it's just his means to get what he wants, but you assume that he loves and wants to protect you."

Liam hadn't made that statement to purposely put Mateo down. After standing against Mateo many times, he gradually learned what a hypocrite Mateo was.Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

When he accidentally barged into the fort, Mateo saved him. For a moment, he felt that Mateo was one of the rare kind people in the fort. He even foolishly wanted to befriend Mateo.

However, the competition of interests made him see how wicked Mateo was, especially when the latter framed him secretly. Hence, he gradually kept some distance from Mateo until he faced the latter.

When Amber gave up marrying him and replaced her groom with Mateo, he acted with his possessiveness and displeasure. However, he was also worried about her.

If someone meek and docile like her married Mateo, she would put herself in a very dangerous position. Liam was worried about her future.

"Liam, you're a nice guy, but I hope that you can show Matt some respect. He's a nice guy too. Plus, he's going to be my husband. I should take his side," Amber said.

She broke free of Liam's grasp and stayed distant.

"I feel that it's inappropriate for us two to be alone here. I don't want others to gossip about us, or trouble you and Matt. So, I'm leaving."

Although Amber was weak, she was also stubborn.

With that, she turned to leave.

"If you leave, you'll find your future gloomy and desperate," Liam said.

For the first time, Liam realized how stubborn Amber was. He made himself very clear, but she failed to understand him.

"Do you think you've made the right choice? No, you didn't. That's an endless abyss. A naive and simple woman like you will be doomed in that kind of situation!" he pressed.

Liam had no idea what had gotten into him. He quickly walked over to stand in front of Amber, preventing her from leaving.

You want me to make it clearer, don't you? Mateo isn't a match for you. You can't marry him. If not, you'll end up miserably!"

Amber looked up at him angrily, which was rare. "Mr. Osborne, I'll fall out with you if you keep criticizing my fiance."

"Humph!" Liam snorted. "You want to fall out with me because of him. A while back, you claimed you loved me the most and wanted to many me. But in the blink of an eye, you want to toss me away for another man. You lied to me-you didn't like me at all. Your plan to marry me was just a trick. The man you wanted to marry was Mateo, wasn't it?"

Liam knew Amber was not that kind of woman, but he purposely accused her to make her reveal her true feelings-like anger or anxiety.
