Chapter 37
Chapter 37
Seeing all those kiss marks on Jocelyn’s exposed skin, Willow was green with envy, totally losing her mind.
She had a hunch last night that Melvin might have been there to see Jocelyn, tossing and turning without getting a wink of sleep. Earlier, when she saw the bellhop heading to Melvin’s room to fetch something, she tailed him.
Sure enough, they were having sex again.
Melvin spotted Willow without saying a word. He just grabbed his luggage, went into the room, and slammed the door right in Willow’s face as if she wasn’t even there.
“You’re not gonna say anything?” Jocelyn could feel the rage brewing in Willow.
Melvin started getting dressed, “Explain what?”
“Last night.”
“Why do I owe her any explanation? She’s nobody to me.” Melvin slipped on a white shirt and handed her a tie, “Tie this Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
for me.”
Jocelyn took it and she also had tied it for him before.
Back then, she loved doing this. In Jocelyn’s eyes, it was something a wife would do for her hubby.
“Get bellhop to change the sheets and duvet later.” Melvin nodded toward the nightstand, “Restock condoms there.”
Jocelyn’s gaze followed his gesture, with her cheeks flaring up all of a sudden.
There lay the hotel’s complimentary contraceptives, all used up from the night before.
Was he thinking of another round of fling tonight?
“Forget it, I’ll just buy some myself.” Melvin said, “The size was a bit small for me.”
Jocelyn was speechless.
Noticing the bite mark on his Adam’s apple was impossible to hide, Melvin gave up trying.
After tidying up, he held Jocelyn’s face and planted a quick kiss on her lips, “Rest up at home, order room service if you’re hungry. I’ll be back after the meeting.”
He seemed to disclose all his whereabouts as a husband to his wife, all patient and tender.
Jocelyn hummed in acknowledgment and watched him leave.
He had barely closed the door behind him when there was a knock..
Jocelyn, mistaking he’d forgotten something, opened the door without asking.
But it was Willow.
“Last night, were you together?” Willow cut straight to the chase.
“Isn’t it obvious?” Jocelyn flashed her a smile.
No point beating around the bush when everything’s clear as day.
Willow could see those love bites all over Jocelyn and knew how fierce was her fling with Melvin yesterday. She was seething with jealousy.
Willow had hoped that coming here might lead to some wonderful nights with Melvin, but he hadn’t even stayed in the
same room as her
Seeing Jocelyn earlier that afternoon, she dreaded they’d hook up again. The thing Willow had scared most happened.
“You guy’s broke up, right?
“yeah. But we’re both single now, so what’s wrong with our staying together again?”
So, what are you now? Friends with benefits? Willow sneered at her.
Jocelyn wasn’t fazed, “Just two singles venting emotions with interactions. We have mutual consent, so it doesn’t matter how you comment.”
“Heh, as a teacher who’s supposed to be a role model, how can you be so… unreserved?” Willow sized her up. “If the parents of your students saw you like this, would they still want you teaching their kids?”
Jocelyn darkened her face, “What’s wrong with normal socializing? Did I steal your boyfriend or do something illegal? Willow, we’re both women, why be so nasty?”
Willow was pissed, but she didn’t have a stand to lecture Jocelyn.
“I’ve told you, Melvin is mine.”
“I remember. But he’s not yours yet.” Jocelyn stood her ground, “When he is, if I still spend the night with him, then you can come to slap me, instead of questioning me.”
Willow clenched her teeth, livid with frustration.
“Sorry, I need to catch up on some sleep, so I won’t keep you.” With that, Jocelyn closed the door.
She and Melvin indeed had their quarrels, which was their own business. Now with Willow in the mix, even if they only wanted to have a sexual relationship, it would not be easy.
Ursula called again, asking if she wanted to hang out in the afternoon.
Thinking of the marks Melvin left on her, Jocelyn cursed him silently, “No, I’m not going anywhere for the next few days.” “What’s up? You feeling okay?” Ursula’s voice carried a hint of concern and curiosity.
“It’s nothing. You have fun, I’m just gonna chill at the hotel.”
The more Jocelyn hid her secrets, the more curious Ursula would be.
Soon enough, Ursula was knocking at her door.
Jocelyn couldn’t dodge any longer and had to open up.
Ursula’s eyes went wide as she covered her mouth, You… you weren’t assaulted, were you?”
Jocelyn was impressed by Ursula’s wild imagination.
Spotting the male clothing in the open suitcase on the floor, Ursula was shocked, “A fling?”
Jocelyn plopped down on the couch, clutching a cushion. After giving Ursula the side-eye, she was not quite sure how to explain.
Let’s just call it a… fling.
“Yeah.”
“You can just check in with luggage after a fling?” Ursula was stunned.
Jocelyn replied, “It’s convenient.”
Ursula was flabbergasted, sizing up Jocelyn, “I didn’t see you as the type to be so unrestrained.”
“Carpe diem. Didn’t you say we came here for a fling?” Jocelyn leaned back on the couch, “Didn’t you go out with that foreigner last night? Nothing happened?”
That topic made Ursula chuckle, “I was hoping for something, but I gotta play it cool, you know, I got his number and we might make some happy memories before his leaving if things feel right.”
Listening to her, Jocelyn gave her a thumbs-up, “This is so like you.”
“But seriously, you couldn’t have gotten those marks without a full night of fun, right?” Ursula was curious, “The guy must be fierce. How could you handle it?”
Jocelyn didn’t expect Ursula to be so drawn into it and sighed, “It’s all about mutual enjoyment, nothing unbearable.
Tak tak, sounds like he’s got skills, Ursula smirked, “You always look so delicate; who’d have thought once you drop the
teacher act, you go wild.”
“Personal life has nothing to do with one’s profession.
Ursula nodded, “Pretty good. Students are the nation’s future, so we take them seriously when nurturing them. When we finally get some me-time, we can’t still stick to the same old script, right?”
Being a ‘role model for students” can sometimes feel like a straightjacket for teachers.
Parents sometimes judge teachers based on their personal style and appearance, so they make sure to pay extral attention to how they dress and act at work.
If you rocked up to school dressed like you’re on vacation, you’d probably drown in a sea of gossip.
Ursula didn’t go out either and just ordered some food. Then, they chatted away.
Honestly, she was dying to know what Jocelyn’s romantic fling looked like. Anyone who could catch the eye of a knockout like Jocelyn had to be something special.
As the sun dipped towards the horizon, there was a knock at the door.
Ursula perked up. “Is that your guy? Is he back?”
Jocelyn didn’t know, so Ursula hurried to the door with her eyes wide open.
“You, you…” Ursula had seen this guy before. Wasn’t he the one who helped Jocelyn up yesterday?
Melvin glanced at Ursula and just gave a slight nod before walking in and asking Jocelyn, “You’re not asleep?”
“Uh-huh. Jocelyn, seeing Ursula still standing there like she’d lost her marbles, introduced her, “This is my colleague, Ursula. And this is Melvin, my… friend.
She deliberately skirted around their relationship to avoid the misunderstanding of Ursula and not to make Melvin think she was trying to bring him back.
Without the title of Melvin’s girlfriend, she wouldn’t expect more.
