Chapter 49: The Sunset
Cinyla’s POV
It’s beautiful to watch the sunset. I will never get tired of watching you. “You are always beautiful. Dad I miss you.” I whispered to the wind as I watched the Sun King hide. I sipped my hot coffee and faced him.
“You’re beautiful, aren’t you? I mean, the sunset is always perfect,” said Sir BenChua who was right behind me. I didn’t notice he was here. I’m currently on the Balcony, and we decided to rest today because of what happened last night.
“Yeah, this is so perfect sir. This is also Daddy and I’s favorite view.” I smiled while telling him that. That also disappeared when I could remember all our pranks. I missed him so much!
“Anyone, you know what it is weird but maybe it was a coincidence. My Dad really loves the sunset.” He sat next to me while looking at the setting sun.
“He said before, this sunset symbolizes peace and goodbyes. It’s quite scary to think but meaningful.” As he slowly told the story, I felt my heart beat faster. I don’t know what it means but in his stories, I feel like he is going to Daddy.
“Sunset conquers his worst day from work so he always looks forward to it when we are on the rooftop. After we wait for the sun to set, we will drink wine and talk for a serious matter.” He faced me which made me stop looking at him.NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
I looked at the sky and took my mug.
I blew it and didn’t let him know.
“I knew it. It’s okay. You like coffee, what kind of coffee is that?”
I wanted to ask a question but it seems unnecessary and I must answer his new question to divert our conversation.
“I prefer chocolate coffee or most of the random flavors. Why?” I asked.
“Nothing. I noticed Daddy before, he loves chocolate even in his coffee too. Anyway, this is so random. Are you okay? I am so sorry if we are still here. I want to make things right. You know that our lives aren’t safe right now.”
I took a sip of my drink before speaking.
“It’s okay sir, maybe Mommy doesn’t miss me either. It’s nice to know that your Daddy and my Daddy have the same chocolate flavor, weird but maybe if they’re still alive they’ll get along.” I laughed a little but then became serious. “I’m here alone because of Mommy,” I added.
“What happened to your mom? Is she okay?” He asked with worried eyes. I looked at the sky and answered his question. “I am still waiting for her text or even a call, but she can’t even say hello to me. I am worried about where she is, I am so worried right now, I tried to call her but her line cannot be reached .”
“Try again, maybe his signal is weak.” He encouraged me. I put the chocolate coffee I was drinking on the round brown table on our left. I nodded and started dialing Mommy’s number, hoping that was just a signal problem.
It rang on the other line, so a strange joy and hope came to my lips, but it soon disappeared and now my heart beat faster. I swallowed in no time and stood up. “Wait sir, I will try to call Mommy again.” “Sure! Go ahead, I will wait.” I saw sir’s sincerity but I thought more about Mommy now. I hope he’s okay, I hope nothing bad happens to him today.
I tried to redial his number but the second time, I failed and my shoulder slumped. “The dial that you have been trying to reach is busy, please try again later.”
I sat next to sir and I don’t seem to understand what I’m feeling now.
“Cinyla, calm down your Mom is safe. Maybe her phone is low or maybe she’s just busy.” He tried to think of possible reasons but I couldn’t stop myself and my tears began to flow.
Sir came close to me and held my hand. I felt the electricity but my sadness and worry for Mommy was heavier.
“Hey, she is okay. I will talk to my staff to check your Mom in your place. Don’t cry. It doesn’t suit you.” It suddenly teased and smiled annoyingly.
“Sir, it’s not like that.” I looked at the camera of my cellphone and it didn’t suit me like a child who was robbed of candy because of my inexplicable appearance.
“I am just joking, Cinyla. I don’t want you to be sad or cry. You know your value to me, right? You are more than my life, Cinyla.” His words are different now, my heart beat faster as if there was a ball bouncing inside me. His eyes are serious and his lips, no this wrong thinking.
“T-thank you, sir. ” I stammered but I quickly removed his palm from my hand and took the coffee chocolate. I also stood up and said “I’m okay now, sir. Thank you for comforting me.” He also stood up and came to me, I stepped back and felt the strange warmth of the air around me.
Suddenly the mug I was holding disappeared from my hand, and he took it. “S-sir…”
He came even closer and he met me when he suddenly bent down and quickly touched my lips. His soft lips linked my inner lip and he gently made a move. I close my eyes until he gives more aggressive French kisses. I bit his lip because of what he did but he ignored it and after a moment of truth he smiled. “I miss you, Cinyla.” He whispered in my right ear which made me freeze in my place.
I couldn’t say anything even if I wanted to hit him or slap him. It’s like I was left out of the scene earlier.
“I am sorry, Cinyla. I didn’t mean to, I am sorry.” I took a step back and now I have woken up to the truth.
“Sir, excuse me,” I said sparingly because my feelings were mixed now. I ran as fast as you would think it was in a running activity until I reached my room.
I lay on the bed beside myself and slightly touched my lips. Damn! My lips!
