Chapter 232
"Shh! Keep it down."
Lemira tugged at Orion's hand, gingerly hiding behind a large decorative vase.
Orion obediently stayed by her side, shaking his head towards the guard lurking in the shadows.
Lemira whispered, "Didn't you know that the Everhart heir is dining in that private room over there?"
A teasing smile flicked across Orion's eyes, "So?"
Lemira turned to him, feeling a bit helpless, "Didn't Thaddeus tell you on the phone why you're supposed to be here? This is a golden opportunity." "What golden opportunity?"
"An opportunity to discuss an investment with the Everhart heir, of course. I absolutely can't let the Langstons get there first."
Orion smiled, "Don't worry. The Everhart Group will invest."
"Why are you so sure? Did you already meet with the Everhart heir or something?"
Orion coughed, a tad guiltily, "Yeah, I met him."
"And? How did it go?"
"Not bad."
"But I heard the Everhart heir is tough to deal with, probably very picky. I'm surprised you managed to strike a deal with him so quickly."
Orion furrowed his brows slightly, "Who told you he's tough to handle?"
"Everyone says so. And I actually caught a glimpse of him just now."
Orion's heart skipped a beat. He observed her expression closely, probing, "You saw him clearly?"
That shouldn't be the case. If Lemira had seen him clearly, she wouldn't be acting like this!
"Not really. His towering guard mostly blocked my view. I only saw a side profile through a crack." "So, you didn't get a good look at his face?"
Lemira shook her head, and then suddenly noticed his attire, "But the
suit you're wearing is quite simet the Everhart heir's." Content??
Orion calmly replied, "It's easy to have similar suit colors."
"True, but he didn't wear it as well as you do."
A hint of delight appeared in his eyes, "Is that a compliment? But you haven't even seen him."
"There's nothing to see. Someone
his stature probably leads a very lavish lifestyle. Wouldn't be
surprised if he has kids from affairs scattered around."
Lemira had just finished her sentence when she felt a flick on her forehead.
Orion's gaze was meaningful, "You seem to know quite a bit about him. Even his personal life!"
"I'm guessing. The richer they are, especially those from wealthy families, the more flamboyant their lifestyles."
Growing up in a well-off household herself, Lemira was quite accustomed to the lifestyles of the rich and famous. Orion, for a moment, found himself at a loss for words.
Lemira suddenly looked around, "Have you noticed how quiet it is? There's no one around."
Orion kept his composure, "Are you hungry?"
"A bit. Let's go then. It seems the Everhart heir has cleared the place out. We better not stick around and be a nuisance." Lemira was quite self-aware. Right now, she's more interested in grabbing a meal with Orion.
Orion glanced at her, "How's the new house treating you?"Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
"It's alright. How about we go back and have dinner there? You can help me celebrate. Consider it a housewarming of sorts?" "Sounds good."
Orion was thinking of how to avoid being recognized. Going to her newly purchased house seemed like
the safest bet. He wasn't quite ready to let Lemira know his true identity!
As they headed towards the elevator to leave, a middle-aged man suddenly approached them, "Mr. Everhart, long time no see!"
Lemira turned in surprise. What did this man just call Orion? Mr. Everhart?
