BOOK 2 CHAPTER 55
Harriene's POV (summary of what had happened in the past five lays)
For the past five days, Liam had stuck to me like he was my shadow or he was somehow stuck to me. walk alone and he wouldn't let himself walk alone without my inpany
He wouldn't let me
It was beginning to get suspicious and even his mom, Luna Angels confirmed it. She said he wasn't usually this clingy for no reason exactly
I didn't try to get rid of him anyway. He was a sweet little guy and I liked him like that. That was also my opportunity to get to know him better. Uncle Mason came into the pack four days ago I was in my rooin. reading one of the books Liam gave me. It was one of romance fiction that he said he borrowed from Layla's room. 1 kitew he didn't borrow that shit, he probably stole it and the both of us are still alive because Layla hadn't noticed the book missing. I had to read it in secret so she wouldn't find it with me. It wasn't my type of book but Liam said most girls loved reading it and he wanted me to try it.
Seventy-five pages into the book, I think I might be that type of girl.
A knock came to my door and I quickly hid the book behind the pillow.
"Come in," I yelled and adjusted myself properly on the bed"
"Hello. Harriette."
Uncle Mason waved at me slightly as he opened the door slightly
"Please come in, Alpha Mason,"
"I'd prefer we do this in an open field,"
I raised an eyebrow. "Do what?”
"I promised to help you with your gift, didn't I?"
Then he closed the door and walked away.
Quickly, I stood up, picked up my shoes, and ran after him. Before 1 walked out of the house, I peeked Into Luna Angela's painting room to see she was busy
She quickly looked back at me and smiled.
"Thank you for coming to help me, Alpha Mason. I've been getting some visions that I don't know how to deal with," I explained.
"Uncle Mason,"
|
"What?" I asked since I couldn't make sense of what he said.
Til help you with your gift only if you promise to call me Uncle Mason,"
That sounded unbelievable. I couldn't even bring myself to call him that
"What if I don't want to?"

1 asked.
He shrugged. "Then I guess you're helpless and I'll have to go back to my pack."All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
He began walking away.
"Stop!" Lasked.
"And?" He asked with a silly smile on his face.

"Why do I have to call you Uncle Mason and what does it have to do with helping me?" I asked, trying to make sense of his demand.
"First, I have two nieces and a nephew I'd give my life for. My nephew can still tolerate me-he's a good kid. My youngest niece, well.. she's a bit of a handful, he paused, making me laugh, "But as for my oldest niece-you-you could at least call me Uncle Mason once in a while. Help out a poor uncle here! Do I really have to wait until I'm fifty to finally hear someone call me Uncle Mason?"
I curled my lips. "Aren't you fifty already?"
His eyes went wide. "No! No way! Why would You think of me to be so old? Have you been talking to Layla? She's the only person who can say that,"
"Nope, but I guess we're sisters after all,"
I answered and he smiled.
"What's the second reason?" I asked him.
"To help with your transition. Your wolf and your gift are somehow connected. The only person who can help you shift into your wolf is your mate. The best I can do is try to help you through the ancestral connections. If you don't feel connected to us, it might not work"
I swallowed hard and I nodded in understanding. I was already open-minded about the possibility of me being their daughter, Reina. "Rowan is my mate, isn't he?
He shrugged. “I don't know. I can't know your mate for you. You have to do that yourself and until you unlock the connection with your wolf, you shouldn't jump to conclusions about someone being your mate until your wolf confirms alright? It's a two-way thing. He recognizes you and you recognize him. That way, he can mark you successfully without your wolf rejecting his mark,"
He explained.
I learned a lot from him that hour.
"Thank you, Alpha... “I hadn't even finished my statement when he glared at me. “Uncle Mason
"Good job, Harriette. You're already crushing your first assignment. I'm so proud to be your tutor right now,
I giggled like a child. I wasn't one for compliments but I didn't mind his.
"Remove those shoes, Harriette,"
I did as he said. My feet on the grass didn't actually feel bad.
“For the rest of this training session and others, I'll be calling you Reina. Is that okay with you?"
Since I didn't want to think about it, I just nodded.
For the next two hours, we sat out there on the floor, meditating Well, he was the one meditating not me anyway but the more he did it, the more connected I felt to something. All I had to do was close my eyes, take a deep breath and the next thing. I was standing by a roadside.
I could see Mother looming over someone. Whoever it was, was on the floor, covered in blood while she stood there with her sinister smile on her face.
Once she looked in my direction, I jerked. I opened my eyes and stared at Uncle Mason.
"You saw something, didn't you? He asked me.
I wanted to lie because that would be the easy way to go about it
"I saw a woman standing over a man's body. I can't say if he was dead or alive,”
"Who could you recognize? The man or the woman or maybe the area,"
I shook my head. "I don't know who they are, I lied.
He raised an eyebrow. "It's not possible to have a vision of someone you don't have a connection with. One thing about DreamWalking is you can walk into anybody's dream but not just anybody. You have to know who they are or at least know their name."
"Maybe I know the person on the floor but I didn't see his face,"
I don't believe you saw that vision because of the person on the noor. It might be because of the woman,"
Judging from his words, I wouldn't be surprised if Uncle Mason knew more than he was letting on. He was a dreamwalker as well and thinking for a minute that my secret was safe with him was stupid.
Abruptly, I stood up.
"I think we should stop for today,"
"Harriette," he suddenly called, making me stop in my tracks. "I wouldn't tell anyone. Yet! Because I want you to tell Darius yourself,"
1 could sense a footstep behind me.
"I don't know what you're talking about,” I answered just before Alpha Darius got to us.
"Okay,"
I frowned as I stared closely at Alpha Mason. I realized he hadn't opened his mouth to talk. That voice was in my headt
"You can connect through the mind link with anyone within the family now, Harriette. That's my gift to you. Welcome to the family,"
My eyes went wide as my lips trembled. I was so close to tears and those tears were of gratitude.
"Does this include Luna Angela?" I asked through the mindlink, surprised I could even do it.
He nodded. “And your siblings. Outside that, it's impossible,"
"Thank you
"See you tomorrow,"

He walked away, not without talking to his brother for a bit.
Hi I had to bit down on my tongue to stop myself from calling him dad.
I said as Alpha Darius walked closer to me.
He gave me his phone. "Why?"

“Commander Mika kept calling and that made me realize it's more of your phone, not mine. I haven't received that amount of calls in a long time,”
He began walking away.
"When should I retum this?" I asked.
"Whenever you want. Everything that's mine, is yours too."
"Thank you."
He smiled at me and 1 smiled back.
After talking to Commander Mika, she made me understand that something was going on in the pack. She didn't tell me what but she tried to ask me
to talk to Rowan.
I did but Rowan ignored my call all through
It wasn't until the day Commander Mika called me through a video call that I talked to Rowan for the first time in five days
"Let's talk later, Harriette,"
Rowan, wait,
I called out but he didn't stop and neither did he end the call.
I looked away dejectedly. I hated that he did that and I wanted to walk into a hole and never come out.
As I looked back at the phone on the table to turn off the video call, a face came into the screen and I gasped loudly as I gota full view of her face.
"Hello, Daughter,
I screamed.
I screamed my lungs out not just out of fear for myself but for Rowan too.
