Chapter 190
SPECIAL CHAPTER: WHISPERED SECRETS
Author's POV
Alexander left Rowan's office when he saw that his gaze was fixated on that of the girl at the door. Even though he was interested in knowing who she was, he still had to mind his business and Leave. He'd done enough to piss Rowan off for that day, he shouldn't push his luck.
He knew he had to force Rowan to agree to the deal before telling him what exactly was in the file. He knew how much it would piss Rowan off but for the sake of his sanity, the man needed to know more about his mother so he could figure out who he was exactly.
Growing up, Alexander always looked up to Rowan despite how cold Rowan was to everybody. Soon, Alexander realized Rowan wasn't just cold to him. He hated him as well but to date, Alexander couldn't understand the reason for the hate.
That didn't stop him from still loving his brother. When his investigation about the vampire led him to Rowan's pack, Laexander needed an excuse. Then, their father called and gave him a perfect one. It wasn't as though werewolves hated vampires, but this particular one was causing more havoc in the werewolf world, and they needed to get rid of him.
Once Alexander walked out of the building, he saw Mika walking into the next building. Alex smirked before he followed her.
Another target and reason why he was there.
"You know, I asked Rowan if it was a bunch of murderers he harbored here or a mix of criminals but he didn't give me a reasonable response," Mika stopped walking when she heard his voice and turned to him.
"What are you still doing here?"
Mika asked.
"Malika, you
should understand that it's always hard to get rid of me," he said with a cold smirk.
"I know just that. So, why are you still here?"
He touched her chin for a second before he removed his hand. He could say everything and anything to her, but skinship was out of line, even for him.
"Don't flatter yourself, Mika. You're not that important. I didn't stay for you. I stayed here for another reason that you be helping me with very soon," He explained.NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
Mika shook her head. “I have no help to render. Stay away from me,”
Before Mika could walk away, Alexander grabbed her sleeves and pulled her back.
"You don't walk away unless I let you," he threatened coldly.
Mika frowned. "What do you
want
from
me?"
"How would
you
feel if I walked out there and started a rumor of how bad you are as a person?"
would
Mika scoffed. "Do you think you can threaten me with that? Do you think they don't already know that?"

"No, they don't. They might know you as crazy, brutal, and violent but they don't know you as someone who would murder their mate in cold blood, and then, how fancy would it be if I let them know it wasn't an accident but rather, you did it on purpose,"
He could see a change in Mika's demeanor. He knew he had managed to shake up her world a bit.
"Whatever I say, I like backing up with evidence. Do you want me to undress right here in front of you and show you what you did?"
"No!" Mika answered.
"I'm happy we have an agreement. Now, let's get down to the real business,"
"Is everything okay, Mika?"
Someone asked. It was the same man Mika was standing with when Alexander saw her at the gates.
He folded his fists as he suddenly felt a sense of hatred for him.
"I'm okay, Gideon, we're just having a conversation," Mika answered before she swallowed hard.
"Do you want me to wait for you?"
Mika looked at Alexander and he quickly cocked his head. Did she really want to play that game because he was ready?
"No, you should go. I'll see you later,"
She dismissed him and he walked away.
"Excellent," Alexander complimented.
"What do you want from me?"
Mika asked him.
"A good number of things. Retribution sounds perfect but for now, know that you owe me more than your life,"
"I owe you nothing,"
Alexander grabbed her chin and let go immediately. She wouldn't even call him by his name. He'd always loved it back then when she mentioned his name, it was the only thing that made sense in Alex's life but now, he was sure he would kill her if he heard his name from her lips.
"First, I know there had been an issue regarding a vampire in this pack. Let's start with you telling me what and who it was,"
He demanded.
“Someone attacked Rowan right outside the borders after someone lured him out. He believed the person who did was a vampire,"
"How?"
Mika paused. "The scent?" She answered as though Alexander was stupid for asking her that.
"Is that all?"
Mika's eyes hardened as she met Alex's eyes. "Tie me to a chair, plug me with barbed wires and turn on the switch, I promise 21:25 Tue, Nov 5
you wouldn't get anything else from me,"
She spat.

Alexander could see the hatred in her eyes. He wondered why it was like that. He was supposed to be the angry one and the one soiled with hate but why did her eyes affect him that much?
After what Mika did, he'd sworn himself off women especially Mika but why did this green-eyed witch have so much effect on him even with the hatred?
"Is that all you want?" Mika asked.
"For now, Malika, try sleeping at night knowing you murdered someone,"
"It wasn't a murder if you're still alive, standing here,"
"Someone saved my life and that was why it wasn't a murder but you intended to murder me, your own mate,"
"I'll spend the rest of my life paying for what I did but trust me, I didn't regret it"
She spat before walking away.
A sharp pain radiated in Alexander's chest and he gripped the exact spot where Mika had left her mark. More painful than what she did was her admitting that she didn't regret it.
That broke Alexander, even far more than he'd been broken-hearted.
