Taking herbal medicine for adjustment hadn’t helped either.

That was when Nicole thought of Skylar. Sure enough, Skylar found some clues in Ulric’s room.

Someone had set up a formation with the bed and other items, and underneath the bed was a spirit–summoning talisman.

It was unrelated to any negative items. Skylar took pictures of the room’s layout, removed the talisman, and returned to Nicole.

“The bedroom layout must have been arranged a month ago, as it differs from before. The placement of the bedside lamp and vanity created a formation that made it difficult for the occupant to rest soundly. However, that’s not the main point.

“Mrs. Neal Senior, please take a look at this. This soul–summoning talisman is likely responsible for your son’s continuous nightmares and exhaustion over the past month. Fortunately, we discovered it early. Otherwise, the person living here would have been gradually affected.”

Skylar explained everything in detail. She was confident that Nicole would soon find out who altered the room’s arrangement and had the chance to place the talisman under the bed. After that, it was no longer her concern.

After hearing Skylar’s explanation, Nicole’s expression turned solemn. However, at her age, she had encountered many experiences and wouldn’t be easily shaken by such matters.

After a moment of silence, Nicole smiled at Skylar and said, “I’m so grateful to you, Skye. Alexander was right. You are a capable young woman. Thank you for your help with this.”

“Don’t mention it, Mrs. Neal Senior,” Skylar replied with a smile. After leaving two amulets with Nicole, she was invited to explore the rest of the estate.

In the past, she would have handled her business and left. Now, looking out at the crowd gathered to celebrate Nicole’s birthday, she realized many people were attending.

In the crowd, everyone was dressed in a variety of formal attire, making it hard to distinguish one person from another at a glance. Yet Joe had an uncanny ability to stand out in a crowd, making it easy for others to spot him..

As she gazed at Joe, who was conversing with others, she felt a wave of nostalgia, as if she had traveled back in time to several years ago.

At that moment, Joe seemed to sense something and cast a sharp glance in Skylar’s direction. Upon recognizing her, he appeared momentarily startled.

Standing next to him, Rosa, who had been engaging in social niceties, blushed as someone nearby asked her when she and Joe would be having their wedding. She looked shyly at Joe and

said, “Ned has been quite busy with work lately. Once he finishes up, we’ll have plenty of time to plan the wedding. Right, Ned?”

Her voice trailed off, but she didn’t receive an immediate response from him.

Those around them looked slightly surprised. Just when Rosa felt embarrassed, Joe returned to attention and responded, “I don’t have time for a wedding yet, but we’ll be sure to send you all invitations when we do.”

Hearing this, Rosa felt a pang of disappointment. She had hoped for Joe to say they would hold the wedding soon.

The guests were sharp and immediately picked up on the unspoken implications, nodding knowingly and chuckling.

Rosa struggled to maintain her smile, but she managed to keep her composure.

Just then, Joe turned to her and said, “I need to use the restroom.”

“Oh, okay.” Rosa realized that his earlier distraction was simply because he needed to use the

restroom. novelbin

After Joe left, Rosa smoothly interacted with the other guests. Over the past two years, as Joe’s company gained stability, she had evolved from feeling out of her element in such social situations to becoming quite adept at handling them.
