Chapter 159
Chapter 159
THEON
As soon as I arrived at Alpha Jack pack my wolf medately went restless
Then my men found one of Jack’s men, waving for help and 1 g down with Miro to food out what’s happening
“She’s a criminal” Deadly The man parsect, as he sat with his back to cove of the gates. He looked terribly wounded t could hear his body bringing him back together. “That bitch kit all my men
I looked at Adam who had been listening to him before I arrived. He seemed troubled and confused.
“What’s up?” Miro asked. “Who’s he talking about?”
“That’s the thing” Adam said, planting his hands on his waist. “Hextalking about Ryn. Said she came with a female assassin and eliminated all his men.”
Miro and I shared a glance, a rush of excitement coursing through me.
“Ryn is here” I asked the man, and he nodded profusely.
“Yes, your Highness. She’s dangerous!” He replied but I was already going back to my car, barely hearing anything else.
Ryn is here. My mate is here. No wonder I feel restless.
Gods! All I want is to see her pretty face. Gods, I hope this time she doesn’t run away again.
Everyone got into their vehicles and soon we were zooming past the gates towards Jack’s mansion.
Then I saw people shifting into wolves, running alongside our car towards the mansion as well.
“What the fuck is going on?” Miro muttered and I hoped to the gods it wasn’t my Ryn they were attacking.
It better not be my Ryn.
But it was my Ryn, and when I heard her scream, all I saw was red.
I saw red when I tore them apart and red when Miro and I commanded their fear, and when I looked at her, all the rage I felt disappeared.
I heard someone yell that the mutants were fleeing but I couldn’t care less.
I couldn’t even look away.
Dressed in high waisted jeans and a black tank top, my mate stood gripping her injured arm, and as she stared at me, her grey eyes glowed a rich lilac color.
I paused. That’s new.
Instantly, I mindlinked for a Healer to come attend to Ryn, and as we continued staring, “Mine.” my wolf declared fiercely.
All of a sudden, the air that had been rife with the stench of blood and sweat suddenly became sweet with the scent of butter, honey, and all the sweet things in the world.
Goddess, she’s beautiful. Wayyy more beautiful than the last time I saw her.
I took a step forward and then I faltered, and looked down at my hands.
When I saw them coated in thick, red blood, I realized I can’t touch her. I can’t taint her with the blood on my hands. I looked around and found Miro’s handkerchief peeking out of h pocket. He too had been staring and watching and I hadn’t even noticed.
Snatching his hanky, I proceeded to clean the blood off my hands.
Miro looked at his empty pocket and then at me with a glare. “Asshole.” He muttered under his breath before looking at her.
Her eyes strayed to my twin and I witnessed the way he stared at her like she was the most precious thing he had ever seen which was weird because I had never seen that type of look before on him.
Not once. Not ever.
His lips parted as if he wanted to say something but then they curled into a bitter smile and then he took a step back. “I’ll let you two talk. Good to see you, Ryn.” He said, before walking away to liase with the other soldiers.
Ryn watched him go, her eyes carrying a heavy sadness.
I really don’t understand my brother.
First, he’s acting like Ryn is his whole world and was hell bent on finding her. Now he has, and the next thing he does is walk away?
I’ll have to talk to him about that later.
Meanwhile, Ryn’s eyes settled on me, and I closed the distance between us, drawn in by the urge hypnotic scent.
She stared up at me, her eyes searching mine for something.
“Hi.” I muttered. “Don’t run away again.”
to
inhale more of her
Suddenly, she pulled me into an embrace, and I sighed in relief as I held her body tight against mine. Gods, I missed her. I missed her so much and I had no idea how bleak my life was without her.
She gave my life meaning, she gave me a sense of purpose.
Without her, I’d be a mindless killer. An emotionless bastard, enslaved to my father’s whims.
I could feel it with Healer Kwan and with Chelsea. I could tell I was going back to that dark place again but with Ryn, I am drawn back to the light.
She is my light in a world filled with darkness. My anchor when storms rage.
Gods, I missed her so damn much.
Ryn’s body shook against mine and I could hear her tiny sniffles as she held on to my neck and buried her nose in the nook connecting my neck and shoulder.
I exhaled, loving every moment.
“I’m sorry for running away.” She whispered.
“It’s fine.” I replied. What matters is that she’s back and we can move forward now. Right?
“No, it’s not.” She sniffled, and there was something about the way she said it that made me pull back and look into her eyes.

Her gaze strayed away. “I have some scores to settle and its
My brows furrowed. “What scores
“You won’t understan
“What fucking scores, Ryn?“I dipped, my tone sharper than a blade.
Ryn paused, her expression changing into one of wariness, so I forced myself to relax and soften up because no matter how upset I get, I still want to be Ryn’s safe space.
Talk to me, Ryn I asked in a soft tone, despite the chaos happening around us. “What scores?”
Ryn opened her lips to speak but before she could answer, I saw my brother approaching us with a woman clenched tightly in his grip.
Ryn turned around just in time to see Miro force the girl to her knees.
Is this the assassin you hired?” He queried. Tm being told she has ties to mutants.”
Ryn’s eyes widened and then she looked from me to him and back. “Please, you have to release her?
My twin and I frowned. “Why?”
“B–Because she’s my friend! She was just trying to help me get my inheritance back and they attacked us instead?
“So, you’re working with mutants? Miro asked in disbelief.
“No! I…” Ryn’s voice trailed off.
“She didn’t know.” The lady on her knees calmly spoke, before raising her eyes to mine, and I could have sworn that I knew her from somewhere. “Ryn had no idea who my friends were.”
Ryn suddenly turned around, her eyes searching frantically, and then her face slacked again.
“What is it. Ryn?”
She pointed to an empty, bloody spot on the floor. “Alpha Jack was here. I….I almost kill–I had him!” Her eyes went round in
fear.
Immediately, I signalled silently to some of my men to begin their search for Alpha JackPublished by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
“I can’t let him get away!” She panicked.
“Don’t worry, we’ll find him.” I assured her, but she wasn’t listening. Her eyes were busy scanning the environment around her like a hawk.
Suddenly, she stopped and narrowed her eyes and then she pointed to a man running away into the darkness. “There! That’s him!”
And before I could even stop her, she ran after Alpha Jack.
